According to some external source, (don't know if it's reliable or not) around 40% of those who go to university either drop out sometime or make changes to the course(s) they are studying because they lack interest and motivation in the one they are currently studying.
The implied message from that statistic for university course entry is to CHOOSE THE RIGHT COURSE!!!!!

I've got two main courses in mind:
- Bachelor of Science (Advanced)
- Bachelor of Science (Advanced Mathematics)
If I screw up then there's usually Bachelor of Science as back up. I've had a look at other courses as well. Many are suggesting that I should try for Pharmacy or Medicine but I just can't be bothered with the UMAT or STATS test involved and I'm only moderately interested in that. I might put it in my preferences if I run out of other options that I'm interested in.

On a side note, I doubt you need a university degree to qualify in the pornographic industry LOL!!! :D

Thanks for clearing that up. I knew that there was something wrong there. At sydney, law (combined) is 99.6.

I heard that medicine will only be taking postgraduates not high-school leavers. Im not interested in doing medicine but am curious to know what's going on.
If my memory serves me, at Sydney Uni, they only offer graduate entry medicine. Entry into this course requires a completion of a bachlors degree in any field, and then a GAMSAT test (like UMAT, except for graduates), and i think an interview. (reasons for this include more mature entrants, getting people who actually want to do medicine, and producing more experienced doctors)

Unless, of course, you're one of the few who get a UAI of 99.95+, in which you get a chance to apply for a combined Medicine Science degree, where you do a science degree for the first three years and then do graduate medicine the next 4 years, WITHOUT sitting the GAMSAT + interview.

Either way, it takes 7 years to complete.

Alternatively, you could do the UMAT and apply for UNSW or Newcastle or Adelaide or Monash, just to name a few, go through a stringent interview process and do a 5-6 year UNDERGRADUATE degree.

With all that said, I've set my mind on trying to get into UNSW Med in 2007.

That is correct, and you have a good memory. :)

UNSW is probably your next best bet if you're up for medicine.
