we usually start in term 4, yr 10, not sure what wk, then u do da hsc exam in yr 11 term 3 or 4, I'll prolly get home around 6:15 - 6:30 cos its not far from my house and yeah ur right abt one thing, I'll prolly feel tired afterwards !

Okay here is my POV:

Chemistry - not worth it
Physics - not worth it
Ext 1 maths - worth it
Economics - worth it
Bus. Stu. - thumbs up
Legal Studies - double thumbs up.
Ext 1 english - 3 thumbs up )

Just make sure you pick the easiest subjects.

The aim of the HSC is not to pick the hardest or best scaled subjects.

The aim is to get the highest UAI with least amount of effort on each subject.

what if you enjoy doing the subject, like for me its physics.

your enjoyment of the subject should counter the hardness.

edit: personally, i think your advice is incorrect to an extent.

ahh Rahul, I think interest does not counter hardness because in fact I was really interested in chemistry but the hardness has forced me to withdraw my interest

obviously not interested enough....
i can see your point of view, that get good ranks in 'easier'subjects and therefore get a higher UAI, which is a rank. but the fact fo the matter is that, it is different for many people. some want to challenge themselves, try new/'harder' things. it is entirely a personal thing, which differs from person to person. the subjects you choose are right for you, but the ones you disregarded are right for other, out of those last 4 you mentioned, i do 3

yeah, true, coz real chemistry is like so different to HSC chemistry.

Why do you guys think the BOS has shed like 1/5th of the content from the chemistry syllabus since last year?

It is because it is too hard. It is like the same as a 3unit subject in terms of work, but it is only worth 2.

Plus the markers are very slack with chemistry. I do not know why this is so.

1 slightly incorrect detail can get u 0/5!!!

I failed 4 tests in my prelim year.

The syllabus for all the sciences are quite long i admit but all the stuff are linked and connected. you learn one thing and its networked in relevance to alot of other things. that is a science. so imo chem isnt hard at all, it is worth it. so is physics. in fact, physics is prolly the easiest 2u subject i cud think of (besides 2u maths) cos its just common sense! i mean pfft if ur inquisitive and stuff u wudve gathered a library of knowledge of everyday phenomena and why they occur simply by observation / asking ur parents etc. physics is basically expanding upon this, and giving obvious stuff jargon names. its so friggin worth it.

imo eng ext1 by itself is totally not worth it. ur expected to be a 'books' person, i.e. they give u a 4cm thick novel to read in one week on a regular basis.

i regret not picking ext 1 english.... its really good for you and helps you with adv english...... yah.. the science syllabi are long..but as Giant lobster said.. theyre all linked and connected in one way or another.. in biology we were torking about radioisotopes used to trace paths through plants and animals and every one was like .. ahh feeels goood to do all science

ahhh my phys chem combo
shudve done engineering as well
teh ootimaht combo!
bio is so out of phase when it comes to the mechanical nature of my interests

hmm well from what ive seen of their work, its my kind of course, cos i basically already know how alot of (its mostly wot i read about when bored) machines work anyway. the maths cant be that hard since its not a pure course (e.g. maths, duh!) but they prolly give u a few funky techniques u learn in 4u mechanics. bleh! ext2 ppl can handle that.

For my one unit subject, I chose Psychology General (Criminology)
