Yup it is. I remember seeing my marks for English go from 19/20 to 9/20 and my rank moved from 1st to 3rd. It was scary, but once you get the swing of it, things are fine.
^Yes, it is.

However, there is nothing to fear. As you take a step up to the higher level, you will progressively adapt to that level if you consistenly try to keep abreast of everything around you.

The point of Year 11 is not necessarily to excel from the start. The whole point is to LEARN. At the beginning of Year 12, you will basically repeat everything you have done in Year 11. So, the point of Year 11 is to learn how the assessmenets are dealt, how to study, how to adapt to teachers/students, how to form study plan, how to motivate yourself and etc.

I failed my first term of Year 11 miserably. I was never ranked 1st in any of my subject at the beginning but I kept my workload higher from the following term and I did significantly better at the end.
Wow! you make yr11 seem less scarier for me now
Thanks.
But there's still nerves inside me. I think it's because of the big change that i know i will face.

It's human to be nervous :haha:

Hehe yup, Year 11 was a fun year. Nothing counted and you just went along for the ride learning things as you went.

Year 12 is when it starts to get scary :mad1:
How would you know that - you haven't experienced it :p

I remember I was scared of Year 11 in the beginning of last year, but it ended up being alright. I'm also expecting the same thing in Year 12 - as long as you study and keep on top of things, you should be fine.

i wish we were getting free periods....but my parents expect me to keep my timetable full in yr 12 anyway. they know i wouldn't study.

its probly because we can only do 12 units. i don't even know my school yet...it sucks how the catholic schools around here cut off at yr 6 and yr 10.

my only fear is that extension maths will be my worst nightmare.

I will enjoy the 10-12 free periods a fortnight at school! Although they will be consumed by catch-up and study ....oh well.

1. You can't finish getting employed. That's why you're going to Uni
2. Gear?
3. As if. You can't condense 3+ years of a university course into a few weeks, maybe months.
4. Freeloading?
