Thinking back my HSC days during the night before assessment due I usually go on msn and bug my friends and ask them how many words they typed etc.etc...and stressing about not writing enough and spend all night fixing my inferior grammar.

Now that I look back these nights are actually fun, you get the rushy, fearful feeling whilst listening to the sound of crickets. :p

i always manage to leave it to the last weekend, or couple of days before the due date

it's a horrible feeling i have to say, being stuck at your desk at 2am, trying to write more words that make sense than your counterparts

actually pretty true.

its always a good time because at the end you know that the last several hours of your life, you were working at near maximum productivity to get this assignment out on time.

I have one due on tuesday, and I am already stressing.
I guess it just depends on your expectations, really. If you go into year 11 thinking, okay, I'll learn from this year, then you don't really need to be stressed, though in year 12, you can't really afford to make a mistake, unless you don't care.

But often I find that the stress was all for nothing. So it really depends.

That rushy feeling was fun in Year 11. In Year 12 it's like, oh dear God it's my HSC at stake. (Yes I know it's not, but that's just how it feels like).
Still, I suppose the stress helps.

Edit: Unless you like, kill yourself.
Then it would be bad.
Very bad.

lol I loved late nights in front of the computer trying to finish off assignments, use to stack up on V and play games or something instead of doing the assignment, until about 7am which would be when i actually started it lol...
So far this year, im yet to encounter any last minute homework/assignments, and I hope to keep it like that for the rest of the year

Actually, I did my English speech last minute. Lol we got it before the holidays so we had 6+ weeks to do it, but I was on play mode during the holidays. So we come back to school and I find out that we have a speech due the next week. Now I'm still cooling off from my play mode so I don't actually start the speech 'til the night before it's due. Stayed up 'til like 4:30am doing it (probably could've gotten an extra mark if I stayed up longer and put some more techniques in but I was hella tired).

I got 13/15 :D
But I am never going to do any assessment in the last minute ever again.
