Palm Sunday, bos

The good thing is that you not only get a free palm branch, but it makes for a great self-whipping device
sure is satisfying!

Basically just pointed out how Jesus = Krishna = 1st Buddha = Roman god whose name I can't remember.
Pretty good, but a bit basic. Presenter was heaps enthusiastic.

Nah, but until they do DNA testing (which is impossible because nothing from the time survives to compare it to) I'm not going to believe them anyway.
Apparently the next weeks episode of last night's series talks about how some guy in India reckons the tomb of Jebus is the one he worships at.

that is silly, Jesus was one of the most common names back then ( it is translated as joshua i think). there is no evidence to suggest one particular tomb which they can pin-point to be his.
Yeah, cos there were heaps of Hebrews in India...
:spzz:

Also, it doesn't translate to Joshua, because Joshua is already a Hebrew name. Hence the Joshua of Jericho fame.

Iron, are you simply a cast-iron catholic, or do your view at all differ with that of the current pope? Do you believe that the pope's opinions should (or do) convey the opinions of the general catholic population? Do you like the catholic church as an organization. I've got more questions, but I don't want to bore you completely

Sure, we submit to papal infallibility, which states that the Pope has a better connection to the holy spirit than other individuals. This makes his theological judgement superior and worthy of obedience.
Put a bunch of protestants together and they cant agree on the colour of carpet.
Catholics are efficient

I hasten to add that the views of the 'Catholic population' are not relevant to divine truth. We are unashamedly authoritarian, u might have herd

It's pronounced "hay-soos" in Spanish-speaking countries, where it is a popular modern name. That doesn't mean it was pronounced that way for Jesus of Nazareth.

Holy Thursday, bos

You are all commanded to attend your nearest Catholic church from, usually, 730pm

the problem with papal infallibilty is that you believe that he is always right, so you can not correct yourselves if you discover that what you are teaching is not biblical, which much of it is not (e.g. works playing a role on entry to heaven, the pope himself, purgatory e.t.c)
There is a vast difference between non-biblical and non-Christian.
Also, as far as I know, there is nothing in the Bible directly contravening the stance of the Catholic Church. It's therefore just as liable to be theologically correct as it to be incorrect.
