Re: Question about peoples' inability to negotiate a footpath without getting in fron

That has happened to me too many times to count. Usually in shopping centres though. (actually that just reminded me, someone thought I was a shop mannequin today  That was lol.)
HAHAHA!!!

omg that reminded me of when we were at denmark, a few years ago.

we were at the wax museum i think, and enthused and one of our cousins were playing some hand clapping game that girls play (yea we were young back then), and some old dude thought they were wax ppl, and they started hand clapping away and he was like "wtf [danish ranting]!!!"

lol, that was pretty funny, cousin translated to us afterwards that he thought they were wax ppl.

Ahahaha! Yeah, you gotta watch out for those wax people; you never know when they might start hand-clapping again.

lol, in my case, I was just standing out the front of a particular store, waiting for my friend to meet me there, and I happened to be standing next to a rack of clothes. A girl came up and started browsing through the clothes, and she accidentally bumped into me a bit, so I sort of shuffled over sideways slightly and said 'Sorry'. She then jumped about a foot in the air and said 'JESUS! I thought you were a mannequin!'

hahah

Even more legendary, is me posing as a mannequin for my club @ Usyd.

I was in that position for nearly the whole day. Each time i moved when somebody walked by, they got freaked out. hahaha
They honestly thought i was a doll/manequin. XD
Regardless though, that was pretty tough keeping that stance.

T'is awesome =]

USYD kendo is probably one of the more intense dojo's/clubs in Sydney.
The beginner course lasts for about 6 months or so and then you have an option to get into bogu (armour). Once you get into armour is where all the fun starts. It is quite physically draining, but post-training drinks will counter the calories u burn :p

uhm, initially during beginners course, u would be lookign about $145 for uniform and shinai.

Armour deffinitely ranges depending on your budget.
Lower-end stuff costs around $400. I purchased my set for around $6-700.

There is a deffinite difference betwee n the quality, however. And if you buy it through the club, you would probably get it for cheaper.
Albeit, you have 6 months or so to save up for it.

tap the right shoulder of the person to your right. when they stop and look behind, a nice gap will open up for you to walk through.

walking on the left: I've always done this but there are always people walking the other way. even the basser steps during the middle of the day in between classes you get about 95% of the people walking on the left side, but then there is always lone group that goes up against the traffic.

(hmmm, I wonder how widespread this problem is. perhaps one could become arc president a slogan based around the walk on the left principle)

That's not a bad tactic except that it's weird touching random people, even if they're in your path.

How about deliberately stepping on the heel of the shoe? Only to the point where it seems unintentional.

Btw, for those who stand infront of me on an escalator and are slow to get off, chances are, my long legs will either step on your stupid carry-on wheely bag (OLD ASIANS, THIS IS REFERRING TO YOU), your heels or blast past you quickly to avoid a collision.
