A man has a 3/4 chance of hitting a target. Find the most likely number of hits of a target out of 100 shots.

Thanks.

this is that expected outcomes thingy

ie. n times p

or the no. of trials multiplied by the probability,

u could use the greatest term ie. t(k+1)/tk

there was a question like this in this years 3 unit cssa trial

We learn all this maths and people still can't see easy ways to do things!

Yeah... My teacher said that you must use the greatest coefficient method to get the maximum marks... So yeah :(

if it doesnt specify what method to use you can you that (.75)^100 and still attain full marks. it does not matter if this question was worth 3 marks or 1 mark. if it doesnt specify which method to use, you can just do that, i did that i and got 3 marks in the CSSA 3 unit trials. (y)

You never lose marks for doing things the short way as long as you explain what you're doing.

hehe how bad is he?
Actually, I'd say he's one of the best in the state. He's really good.

He takes marks off for stuff like not putting 'where n is any integer' for general solutions... or if you have something like (cosx - 4)(cosx - 1) = 0, if you don't state that cosx=4 has no real solution as -1<=cosx<=1, or in induction for the divisibility type, you if you don't state that 'M' is any integer (for the assumption case).

But yeah he's quite good.
