Re: The Official Football Thread

Wow I didn't realise there was such a strong football following on BoS,

I'd just like to throw in some Man City Support

"Fergie, sign him up!"

"Fergie, sign him up!"

"Fergie, sign him up!"

Mancini's hopes to win the Premier League title may be a little far-fetched but our Carling Cup and FA Cup campaign looks to be hopeful :)
coz you prob havent been here long.

Re: The Official Football Thread

I wouldn't bank on Rafa coaching Liverpool beyond this season. He has one more year to run on his contract though doesn't he?

Word is that Inter are very keen and on the prow for Gerrard and Juventus are also keen on Rafa. Not sure how credible the speculation is though.
think Rafa signed up till 2014.

teams want to sign gerrard? this isnt speculation mate, its been a known fact for years now. and lets also remember that rafa promised to quit if torres is sold

there is no way rafa is going to leave, he is on a high paying 5 year contract and it is doubtful that the owners have enough money to both pay rafa off and afford sign another high profile manager

LOL. i dont agree with the bolded out part but Rafa simply cannot go any further with the current squad of players (im not a liverpool supporter btw)

Rafa's biggest mistake was selling Alonso and letting Hyppia leave after 10 solid seasons at CB.

I dont know..liverpool are in trouble with alot of Debt (above 80 million according to sources) and only Torres + Gerrard would be able to accumulate this amount of money.

Btw, that greek kid is actually 30..a decent back-up signing for CB/RB. :)

Great match this morning. Fergie continues to infuriate me by plaing 4-5-1. But if it works, then yay.

Tevez is a freak though. All he has to do is stick his leg out to score goals.

Villa drew Arsenal. Fantastic.

Yeh, but with Nani dominating play, Man Utd may have just found the perfect formation! Plus, this formation allows Rooney to be in a free-role. :)

Hmm..I dont really support anyone but i'm kinda biased towards Chelsea from the legendary- Zola days.

Well, Gerrard has been so close to signing for Man Utd (age of 17) and Chelsea (under Mourinho)..he may actually go through with it this time...but seriously, I'm guaranteeing that he won't EVER play in a Man City/Real Madrid shirt.

Re: The Official Football Thread

Thing is Nani's been average. Still Valencia over Nani for me. Wouldn't mind one on each side though.

Anyway, how does a 4-5-1 give Rooney a free role? Sometimes he keeps roaming around and when United get possession there's no target up front. In a 4-4-2 though Rooney can roam and there still is a target man.

4-5-1 does help us with midfield dominance and I guess Fergie was worried about Barry and de Jong. But it didn't work in the 1st half.

Shite, I'm getting my formations mixed up  Yeh, ur right, I'd expect to see Mama Diouf partner Rooney alot more (not tryna say that Berbatov and/or Owen are shite) BUT damn, that kid is so quick :)

Yeh, Nani has been average all season, maybe Ferguson will sign Eden Hazard (although raw at only 18..) he is extremely talented. The player that was meant to excel this season --> Anderson!..what happened to him?

Re: The Official Football Thread

fair enough. but if you were to support ONE team, who would it be?
LOL, well, it wouldnt be Spurs, Man City, Arsenal for sure. It'd be a tough one as I'm a huge admirer of Man Utd's youth yet the first jersey i received as a 5-year-old Boy was Zola's Chelsea jersey...thus I'd say Chelsea is my preffered team. :):):)

Re: The Official Football Thread

There isn't much Anderson can offer that Fletcher can't to be honest. Two years ago Anderson was better than Fletcher. Fletcher has improved so much yet Anderson hasn't. Off the ball he's so average.

With hindsight, Nani and Anderson combined for a 35million just wasn't all that worth it.
