I got a speech with a limit of 5minute but my speech goes over by around 30sec
I've cut out a lot while still maintaining the detail and shiz... Will i get marks deducted?

We have an extension speech next week which is 22min to 25min

Also, as we are approaching a penalty, he taps his ruler on the table continuously...if you just sit down, there is no penalty.

oh okay that's understandable since we know more than you about how your teacher marks

yeah, if your speech goes over by even 10 secs then your teacher will be very angry and give you zero and an N-award and you might also be facing a suspension

Check if your school has a general English faculty rule. Mine has some percentage rule over, you get so many marks docked.

How fast are you speaking? You may be able to slightly quick a phrase or two and modify the way you say things (not lose the content, but take out superfluous linking or stating) and you could get it really close to 5

Did a 35 min one for uni, was supposed to be 20-30 but went over, meh

sometimes they stop marking after you hit the time limit but wont deduct marks...depends on the school though.
