How can you possibly use that argument? When contraception fails, you find out. There are pregnancy tests. She misses her period. All before the 9 months.

imo nothing can possibly warrant a woman requiring a late term abortion. not even rape. rape least of all in fact.
nothing can warrant a woman not requiring a late term abortion not even rape

Are we actually being sexist by mocking elements of feminism like this?
No I'm being serious. This is definitely a feminist thing but it's also common human decency.
well its not the worst thing he has ever said
as far as personal responsibility goes, if she doesnt want a baby it is up to her to ensure he wears a condom
and if he doesnt want a baby then it is up to him to ensure he wears one (as the pill isnt 100% effective)
but what if he does want one and therefore doesnt wear a condom but the woman doesnt want one but doesnt voice her concerns in regards to his lack of condom?
He didn't provide any such situation and left the entire onus on the female. You can tell by his tone and "dumb woman" description what his opinion of the fairer sex to be.

Provided that, though, yeah she can take an active role in preventing pregnancy.

"The Pro Life Movement: The ludicrous notion that a foetus is equivalent to a human being and that holding this belief entitles one to apply this ethic even to those who disagree with it's precepts."

come on
you actually think I meant it like that?
Well, yes, that is what you said.

I have a question for you on this subject:

Let's say a woman is pregnant and she doesn't want the child. But she can't get an abortion for one reason or another (too expensive, religious reasons, social reasons, legality etc.). So she is forced to raise this child, this unwanted accidental child. How do you think this child is going to feel growing up? Do you think he/she will be loved? Not always. It's possible, but it's unlikely, because the mother wanted to abort. Now is that fair for this child? And don't say "adoption" because orphanages are overcrowded enough as it is and as a result the conditions are often quite poor and children are not raised in proper loving circumstances they deserve.

Another point is overpopulation. We are expected to have 10 billion people on this planet by I think it was 2015 but I'm not sure. How are we going to deal with that and how are we going to slow down this growth? We can't murder people on the street - but if we make abortion easy and cheap to get we can a) contribute to population decay and b) conduct a lot of stem cell research to help people WHO ARE GROWN ADULTS, NOT FOETUSES, who are dying from currently incurable diseases and medical conditions.

I would like to refer you to this video for a more educated argument for my position.
Answer to point one: give the child up for adoption if you don't want it.
Answer to point two: really? overpopulation? so what's the answer to that, mandatory sterilisation at birth?

and lol at the fact that you just linked me a video to perhaps the biggest bigot on the internet.

"oh I'm an atheist, you all are inferior to me, hawhawhaw".

1: I've already covered that argument - I specifically said that it is not a valid response.
2: How about we kill grown people instead? What's your solution to it?
3: Fuck off. Watch the fucking video and understand the guy's points before you dismiss it as bigotry. It's rational and logical and it makes sense, unlike what you're saying. You obviously have no idea about what he is actually about, so just watch the video with an open mind.

well fyi I didn't . there are specific situations which would warrant a late term abortion. but in 98.58248201293232% of the cases. no.

1: I've already covered that argument - I specifically said that it is not a valid response. anything is valid, even if you say it isn't. it is a viable option.

2: How about we kill grown people instead? What's your solution to it? how about we let the population grow exponentially in most countries and curb populations in areas like the Indian subcontinent and China.

Adoption.

Late term abortions for no other reason than not wanting a child is pretty much murder.

you, my friend, are a dumbass. when did I explicitly say that the Nazis were Communists? I was merely talking about the fact that they are national socialists. in case you haven't noticed, socialism is very similar to communism.

I think the issue here is that there is no definable period between when a foetus becomes human. As the post-birth abortion thread showed, there is a huge conflict (even in the academic scientific/philosophic) community of when 'life' begins.
