Does the USA need stricter gun control to prevent such acts in the future?

It is impossible to stop the media attention pretty much, so we just have to live with it and find other ways to deal with mass murderers. Not knowing anything in the field of psychology, I would say that murderous intentions would be fairly ingrained in a MM psyche anyway, and although they may snap due to media coverage they would have to initially have it in them anyway.

the US should seriously consider banning arms sales or restricting them. Like in Australia, even though we still have shootings they are rare and also most are pistols and small rifles. However, in america theres plenty of Ak-47s M16s and there's also plenty of RPGs if you know the right people, which is seriously stupid. Everyone in america has weapons. If a civil war were to happen one day, it would be devastating, so many weapons all over the place. The best thing is to confiscate weapons, that will help prevent future murders.

the federal government has no mandate to legislate the bearing of firearms, so this isn't an issue for "the USA" but rather the state government of Colorado or Denver county

in the wake of the incident there probably will be some amendments made to colorado firearms law, like banning high capacity clips. although as far as i'm aware, denver already had an assault weapon ban.
Yeah the different firearm rules in the various states is something I've been reading up on lately. In hindsight the question was worded poorly. Gone ahead and changed it to something a little more broader.

Evidently, my point was that you were wrong.
evidently, my point was that someone saying "the US should seriously consider banning arms sales or restricting them" and "If a civil war were to happen one day, it would be devastating, so many weapons all over the place. The best thing is to confiscate weapons, that will help prevent future murders" has no idea that the constitution enshrines gun ownership, has no idea that civilian stocks of small arms are five times larger than military stocks, seems to forget that america HAD a civil war (and a revolutionary war) where the civilian ownership of arms was paramount. in other words, clearly has no idea what he or she is talking about

gun ownership is intrinsic to the american social psyche in a way that slave ownership or prohibition never was. there will be no constitutional amendment.

so where was i wrong

Clearly the effect of the original proposition was that the law should be changed with regard to guns, the constitution can be said to be "law" therefore your suggestion that the law could not be change because it was a constitutional right creates a non existent divergence between the constitution and "the law"

yes, please tell me more about how doubting that an unprecedented overturning of one of the original articles of the bill of rights is creating a "non existent divergence" between the constitution and the law

it's not happening and you know it, don't be such a sourpuss

Aiming for the for doors, doors
The bodies hit the floor, floor
Re-loading playing my favorite movie
Steppin' up to the rows
Gonna get a little baaaby

WON'T STOP WATCH 'EM DROP
BANE BLOW MY SPEAKERS UP
TONIGHT I'MMA FIGHT
'TIL I SEE THE PO'S LIGHTS
POP POP HEAR EM DROP
BUT THE CLEANSING DONT'T STOP, NOOOOOOOHOHOHOHOHOOOOOAAAAAAAAWWWWWWWWWWWWWW

It's not wrong to say it wont happen, just that the constitution and the law isn't the same thing.

So glad we could end on a note of agreement.
