No , you are required to do a certain amount of hours for prelims, you should have picked it up in year 11.

Nope, I think the only subject you can pick up in year 12 is 4u maths (which I only available in year 12).

and 4u English, in some cases some schools allow you to change after year 11 half yearlies because the person who topped English in year 11 half yearlies wasn't doing extension and decided to take up extension after. She did however end up dropping it for reasons I don't know.

legally no, but if you're in close relation with the school, they'll just fill in the hours sat (or completed) for the subject.

Nah definitely not if you're in yr 12 ATM however it would've been possible if you picked it at the end of yr 11......that's what I did n they even put it into the system that I had completed all required hours which was totally faux, but I think it was because I literally begged the teacher!

Talk to your school now - some schools will allow you to pick it up now, and others won't.
