Hi guys. I have already put down preferences for engineering at unsw and uts.
What University would be the best backup for specifically engineering after uts?
Thanks in advance.

Bear in mind, engineers generally are unemployed, thus it is hard to find a job.

Which engineering courses are you interested in?

I've heard this as well...Should I really become an engineer...?

Not sure mate. Either pursue your desires (maths & physics?) and become financially in-stable, OR go in the medical/business sector. Do what you like, you may be a better electrical engineer than a project manager.

Engineers are unemployed and doing maths, physics and businees will get you a job, maybe in opposite world.

Depends on the major. There is a slump in civil ATM but heaps of students enrolling each year.
Do you think that there is much job opportunities in aerospace/mechatronic/civil/mechanical/petroulem in Australia. Maybe military, or research, etc. I wanna be like making and designing stuff, not fixing broken things? Thanks :)

That's a lot of different fields with vastly different demand (and supply).

i am interested in all the types of engineering listed but mainly want to pursue one in aerospace or mechatronic. apparently in aust there aren't many job opputunities like wise with mechatronic. would it be worth following these dreams and risk being unemployed in australia or i was thinking of doing civil and moving to dubai. or go into actuary, they always need them and finding a job isn't hard

I was thinking either mechanical or electrical.

Back to the original post please.

Also, will electrical or mechanical have good job prospects?

They both have good job prospects.
Thank you. For some reason I really am in a state of liking electrical at the moment, but I know that mechanical suits the subjects that I enjoy most.

IDK. I should of never taken full interest in electrical at one stage. Would have made my decision easier :spzz:

no demand in aus

my friend is currently applying for mech jobs with his mech(aero) degree and since the peeps are like "that isn't MECH" he hasn't gotten any callback, afaik

Yeah, no jobs in Aus for aero from what I've heard as well. I've also heard mechanical and electrical don't have much demand in NSW so I'll have to go overseas. Dis right?

Shifted towards electrical now. I just found that the vast range of jobs through electrical were very amusing.
