Can I have please everyone who is currently doing Undergrad Medicine, please answering the questions, from what you achieved. Would like a decent amount of 2012-2013 people answering these questions, but if you do Med at UWS, than anyone would be nice.

B. 94.05-95

D. 96.05-97
E. 97.05-98
F. 98.05-99
G. 99.05-99.95
H. Any other please specify :)

2. What was your UMAT weighted score? (Please specify if you are a GWS or non-GWS applicant as well)
A. 140-145
B. 146-150
C. 151-155
D. 156-160
E. 161-165
F. 166-171
G. 172+
H. Any other please specify :)

3. Did you get first round interview offers, reserve spots or something else? (Please specify)

4. How did you study for the UMAT, apart from practice papers? Any methods or tricks you could share? :)))

Thanks so much for taking time to take the little questions

med at uws, did hsc in 2011

atar was 99.6 but for uws the atar system is that of a threshold, if u ace ur umat and the subsequent interview, the only aspect of ur atar that counts is if u get 95.5 or over for non GWS students or 93.5 or over for GWS

UMAT weighted was between 151-155 can't remember exactly, the cut-off fluctuates from year to year but iirc for GWS its like 135+ and for non-GWS 145+

Didn't really study that much, i did medentry but i honestly didn't make full use of the resources apart from like 3 practice papers and half a dozen drills

I am GWS :) im sure you are familiar with the selection process for UWS med, in which case you should be aware that UMAT and the interview are of particular importance.

Whilst its true that you cannot really study for particular aspects of UMAT I do recommend that you by some avenue get your hands on some practice papers and questuons to at least familiarise yourself with the type of questions you might get. For the interview I cannot say much save that you think carefully about not only your motivations to pursue the career but what makes you in particular suitable, whats skills and characteristics do you possess that would be useful etc. Also make sure you have a more realistic idea of what a career in medicine entails.

2011 ATAR: 98.75
2012 GPA: 6.875
2012 UMAT: 80th percentile / 144 weighted* Note I was in Adv Sci @ UWS so gained entry into Med via this scheme, hence the lower UMAT score.
Received first round offer during main round, non bonded, CSP.
Prep: 10 Medentry papers + Acer papers
