Just a quick question... for those MMAN1300 textbooks, is there any advantage in buying the SI version of the books? Does it just mean that its in SI units e.g. metres not miles...?

Is there a reason that they made the course pack

I think it's because the MAPLE Notes were only included in the first semester course pack.

Hi all again, wondering if anyone can say their experiences with the following subjects as well and what resources are useful (i.e. which to get and which are just a waste of money)

ELEC1112
MATH2019
MMAN2400
MMAN2130 (formerly MMAN1130)

Thanks again :D

The textbook for ELEC1112 is good, however many of my friends did ok without the textbook and just referred to tutorial questions and lectures.

Thanks Anomalousdecay, might just borrow it from the library when I need it then. Do the tute questions get uploaded on Moodle or do they have a course pack?

Anyone else have any input on the other subjects?
Thanks :D

All on moodle. Also you can get away with using an old edition of the textbook. You could try getting a fourth or third edition and borrowing it one month at a time as I'm pretty sure the 5th edition will be in high use collection.

Old edition will just have less questions and probably difficult to find answers for much.

Is it ok to use the previous year's course pack for MATH1131? E.g. use 2014 course pack for this year?

You could do that if you must but any content changes you will need to be aware of for exams and such. Also, dates and stuff might be wrong in the booklets so you would have to consistently ask other people about those.
