In my opinion
social life - worse, people in uni stick to their groups and seldom want to make friends outside of their groups according to my experience (UNSW)
Workload depends on the subject
Studying depends on the mark you want. I study more in uni than i did in highschool since i need good grades to transfer. For mostpart its like highschool where if you study you will do well in tests but some subjects are pure bs COUGH FINS1612 where they expect you to self study and test you on shit they dont teach

it was more aquaintances, never went beyond that as they already had their own circles. Also new semester, new subjects, new people.

should've kept in contact with them so you'd gradually become 'friends'. also im sure you would at least have friends in student societies (coz they're not like uni semesters where u do new subjects and meet new ppl)

im sure workload would be much more (coz it's uni)

in uni it would seem more competitive esp with competitive degrees such as med and law (in terms of uni marks and transferring) although i guess u could say marks in hs are crucial esp with med where all u do is sit umat, get a high atar and do an interview (for most unis) and doing an internal transfer would be more difficult because u need to sit gamsat (6 hrs compared to umat 3 hrs and it's a written test iirc)

I mean the fact that at Uni you can finish at 9 pm, and start at 9 or 8 am the next day makes the hours at school seem more tolerable.

I don't think they're as condescending as you think about school, but they're just going to hang with people from their school or related schools just because they already would have connected with people from there before uni.

That's my experience with comm, engineering's been a bit more different in a better way.

you need to add the inner west as well

does the same apply to elite private schools as well (scots college, sydney grammar, etc). legit if the selective school nerds are still continuing this i doubt they would be able to communicate with others in the workforce (if they ever plan to get full time employment)

i honestly thought making friends at uni is easy bc once u join uni, you're in the same position as everyone (in some sense) as in the fact that you dont know most ppl and they dont know u either and then through lectures/tutorials/labs/student societies/sports teams you meet others and make friends with them

it seems that making friends in hs is much easier than uni
