The chad highschool: hit on girls all day, play sports and hang out with your mates.

The virgin uni: study hard and volunteer for societies in an attempt to show megacorps you are a hard worker.

In my opinion
social life - worse, people in uni stick to their groups and seldom want to make friends outside of their groups according to my experience (UNSW)
Workload depends on the subject
Studying depends on the mark you want. I study more in uni than i did in highschool since i need good grades to transfer. For mostpart its like highschool where if you study you will do well in tests but some subjects are pure bs COUGH FINS1612 where they expect you to self study and test you on shit they dont teach

it was more aquaintances, never went beyond that as they already had their own circles. Also new semester, new subjects, new people.
should've kept in contact with them so you'd gradually become 'friends'. also im sure you would at least have friends in student societies (coz they're not like uni semesters where u do new subjects and meet new ppl)

yeah those ppl u are referring to (the selective students queenroot was referring to) wont learn proper social skills

im sure workload would be much more (coz it's uni)

in uni it would seem more competitive esp with competitive degrees such as med and law (in terms of uni marks and transferring) although i guess u could say marks in hs are crucial esp with med where all u do is sit umat, get a high atar and do an interview (for most unis) and doing an internal transfer would be more difficult because u need to sit gamsat (6 hrs compared to umat 3 hrs and it's a written test iirc)

I mean the fact that at Uni you can finish at 9 pm, and start at 9 or 8 am the next day makes the hours at school seem more tolerable.

I am still in contact thru fb but at the end of sem they're kind of like ok see u later

Only some societies are very active, I wasn't in one if them.

Also honey gamsat is not for internal transfer and is not easy lol you still need a high hPa and good interview

im sure u can skip those late night classes and watch them at home since they're recorded (unless u do a lab, in an exam period or something)

oh yeah fuck me never again

Night classes are most likely to be labs or tutorials so u have to go lol unfortunately

I'm in scisoc but social events are huge and not really a place to make friends
Theres no real small events

Yes, it's quite cliquey. Good if you manage to get in groups early, not so good if you don't.

I don't think they're as condescending as you think about school, but they're just going to hang with people from their school or related schools just because they already would have connected with people from there before uni.

That's my experience with comm, engineering's been a bit more different in a better way.

tbh they need to learn to socialise with others regardless of school (that's what i told queenroot with regards to those selective school students)
yes

UWS was good

actually made friends there

everyone was nice and accepting

ye all that shit upwards of 300 people
it seems u had a way different experience at wsu

cant u still chat to ppl at those large events? say u were in first yr uni would u get to know others in second yr or 3rd yr

High school ftw!
i think this comes down to ppls personal experiences but personally i disagree bc i wasnt a fan of high school
tbh that's what i've felt is a common thing in western sydney more than other places i.e. eastern suburbs
wdym?
Networking in East>Friends in West
cant u still make friends in the east? (if u get what I mean)

its not like they are confined to their school only. They are confined to the selective circle jerk e.g. Ruse kids and baulko kids with nsb with nsg and then syd boys/girls st George Sydney tech Sefton normanhurst etc etc

yeah bur people usually come there with mates anyways so talking to others probably wouldn't go beyond small talk especially considering everyone is drunk

YES lmaooo
every rich, white kid with a fake tan seemed to know each other
yeah and all these private school names I haven't heard of lol
