Honestly I've just gotten to the point where I thoroughly enjoy analysing the RBA's response to the Covid-19 recession and critiquing government policies....so fun.ahhhh.

And writing some banger case study essays faa. Before cranking some projectile motion questions.

Yea tbh its just the teachers. Its just feels stupid when they "teach the content" for like 8 weeks but then in the last week they're just like yolo lol this random study guide on some irrelevant text never helped u heres an essay. And the salt to the wounds is that the subject is supposedly "challenging assumptions" "critically interpreting" "going outside of the box" but do you ever see majority of people with brand new ideas? If you read most threads or even ask teachers, its literally just adopting exemplars that were really good and just shaping them to the question.

Don't get me wrong, I'm not hating reading here. I doubt I'll stop reading after English (But definitely not for quite a while after the HSC) but its just the experience that turns people away from it. Its kinda like the whole maths debacle?
Hmm yeah I see what you mean. My teacher is funny in that she picks out “exemplar” responses and we go over it as a class and pull it apart and find so many errors and she’ll just shake her head like “you guys write better than this”

like the generic argument that in maths u just chuck in formulas so people stop liking it and its just learnt solely for exams not for actually enjoying it or appreciating maths. teachers only teach just to pass the quiz and there's no real motive for indepth learning etc.

no one enjoys writing creatives. I struggle even getting to 400 words. What do you write about? Jill went to the Mall and bought some cheetos?
Now I’m genuinely curious, what’s one story idea you had that you were really happy with and executed well?

me too bro but ik a few friends of mine who write creative stories for fun?!?!? it's so weird but they always manage to get full marks :(
I write for fun and still haven’t hit anywhere near full marks for creatives...somehow still have a good rank though so I guess I’m doing alright...relative to the rest of my class 😂

i feel like writing creatives is only fun when it isnt forced and when u write it on ur own will / not for any assessment lol
but even then, the idea of randomly writing a creative when free sounds weird to me

But yeah its not gonna make much difference ranting on English. I guess the only best thing is just to hope your externals go well to compensate and that your other subjects take over so your ATAR is decent at the end. It just pressures you more to do extremely well in them but its def more possible to progress in other subjects so there's that at least.

try and get a b6 by doing that 🤣🤣
yeh lol its pre flawed but early on a lot of people are turned away because they get stuck for once because they stop doing stuff like 10 + 20 or 8*13 and they see something like x or y introduced. Some maths teachers don't like their jobs so it just adds more onto that. And once you stop doing maths its kinda hard to get back into it, like if you stopped giving a shit in yr 6 and u suddenly want to be an engineer then its like lol
