depends how big your writing is tbh. figure out how many words per line on avg you use per writing booklet, figure out how many lines per page, and calculate from there

How many words is appropriate. I heard the markers aren't expecting 6-8 pages like essays

idrk for standard english tbh (my school doesn't offer it), but that's what they expect for advanced so I'd assume it would be less for standard

Yea so around 4.5+ pages? In the writing booklet.
thats good markers dont count words and especially if you play with structure and do one line paras or draw boxes then u can get away with less. but if its 20 marks mod c u have to do more than 12 marks and reflection

selective school silliness lol

they don't offer standard maths either, that's why i have to do it through distance ed :/
I feel your pain... I had to do distance ed too. And it kinda messed with my rank (long story but check profile). Looking at your subjects you seem very humanities minded, be happy you have the option to do standard haha. Math advanced has so much content. You need to study hours every week throughout the entire year to get a band 6.

Yeah I'm talking 20 markers. I really hope they ask for a reflection piece because I am pretty good at those and that means I get to write less for the creative/discursive (yayy)

oh yeah i'm definitely humanities minded, maths advanced would kill me ngl but i'm currently coming 1/60 for maths standard in my cohort, so i'm super happy with the choice i made to do it (even if distance ed sucks). fingers crossed i keep my rank next year lol

My advice for doing distance ed is to keep your distance teacher in check and ensure that assignments and things are very clearly waited. Not sure what distance school you go to but just be careful since theres less of a personal connection like you would have with a normal teacher and you are just a number to them. My teacher marked something I did that should not have and messed with my rank.

yeah distance ed sounds a lot harder no direct feedback in person, but lucky they do offer it and you arent made to do advanced. i accelerated in advanced maths last year and omg was it hard i studied so much to just pass but final hsc mark was 72 so was rlly happy considering what i had gotten
