Are you sure its never marriage essay? As in its never happned. If so I think im down prepping and memorising two essays rather than 3.

It would be best to have three arguments for significant person, ethics and significant practice, that way, worst case, if you have a singular essay requested, you can provide three body paragraphs. At least... that's how I'm preparing rather than memorising full essays.

Hate this subject. I memorise essays cause thats the only way I know how to do it. I dont know if I can memorise 3 essays. Might just risk it and hope for a holistic.

It would be best to have three arguments for significant person, ethics and significant practice, that way, worst case, if you have a singular essay requested, you can provide three body paragraphs. At least... that's how I'm preparing rather than memorising full essays.

It's difficult to predict what they will give for the essay question. I was mapping the frequency of person, ethics and practice for Islam and Judaism for HSC Papers 2011 and onwards. In 2021, 2022 and 2023, for both Islam and Judaism (I'm not sure about other Religious Traditions), they asked a short answers on each - one for person, one for ethics and one for practice.

I've only looked at Christianity for the essays and there isn't a pattern so to say. There was one year (2013) where they asked students to discuss the relationship between person, ethics and/or practice. They haven't exactly asked for that in several years, so it could be that.

Based on what I have observed for Christianity, there could be a singular essay this year, especially with how broad the questions have been. I would just recommend you are prepared for any situation, whether they mandate an essay on person OR ethics OR practice, as well as the chance it could be the relationship between all three.

I do think, however, that SOR is a difficult exam to predict. I mapped Question 11 to the corresponding syllabus points and it's quite erratic and random. Same case for Question 22 for anyone doing SOR2.

As you would prepare for a short answer on each element for Depth Studies, I would recommend the same for the essay.

I focus on memorising my quotes and a few points of information - that way I ensure that in the exam, I have room to adapt and ensure my answer expresses what the question is asking, especially if it has a stimulus. I've never memorised complete essays for SOR. Focus on understanding the content rather than memorising it, that way when you answer the question it flows and doesn't sound like you're simply dumping content.

With the short answer it varies. Most people say not to predetermine what Religious Tradition to write the essay on, but I know that I will always turn to Christianity since it's my go-to. In that way, I will always choose Islam and Judaism for my Short Answers. For each, I have at least 3 quotes for significant person, ethics and significant practice, this way I'm prepared for 8 markers which are pretty much mini essays and 3 pieces of evidence are usually expected there.

There isn't really a rule for how many quotes to use as it also depends on the directive verb. I've never included a quote for 3 markers or less. Depending on what the 4 marker is asking, I will most likely put one quote. 5 markers usually demand at least one quote too. If it's a 6 marker, I'll usually put two quotes. Anything from a 7 marker and above can demand three quotes. Then again, it depends on the quality of your response. You could have some of the best quotes but if you're not answering the question, you won't get the marks.

Do you mean the verse or sacred text? In terms of that, I'm not sure. I would assume that you would have to specify the source, whether it's the person, scholar, sacred text, etc.

For Business Studies, I've been doing a bunch of Multiple Choice. I completed them for all the relevant HSC papers - 2012 onwards. I'm starting to work through Trial Papers for MC as well.

I've been focusing on HR since it's my weakest, especially as it wasn't assessed in my Trials. I usually lose marks in short answer so I've been doing a bunch of those too.

For Reports and Essays, I've just been going over the ones asked previously in the HSC and I just scaffold / dot point how I would approach it - pretty much a plan or quick overview.

I'm only memorising definitions and other important content. I plan on using hypothetical case studies since they're more adaptable to whatever the question is, as long as the statistics are realistic. If you know the content, you can make up a case study that works while demonstrating your knowledge.

I'm also memorising the syllabus with cloze passages. You can't really answer any question properly unless you know every single dot point of the Business Studies syllabus.
