would it be humanly possible to state rank #1 (or just state rank in general) for every single subject you do in the hsc?? (1 Viewer)

j..just work hard? i mean ofc its possible, its just about how much work we are willing to do and how much we are willing to sacrifice for it. theoretically anyone CAN state rank every subject, but that would maybe require grinding out year 12 content from year 7 and just doing vigorous practice for 6 years. but who is really willing to do that? only people with intense willpower and determination can, and i'm assuming that was the case for sariena. either that or you are just naturally incredibly intelligent
Just adding onto this I feel like you're totally right 99 - but again the sacrifice is not at all worth it. The HSC should never be the be-all, end-all of high school - it's a miserable existence enough in years 11 and 12, sacrificing every other experience (friendship, relationships, social life, hobbies, family) etc for the sake of an ATAR mark from year 7 would honestly amount to a form of self-harm in my book. Life is infinitely richer than the tiny exam rooms we're about to go into 3 days from now and seriously when are you going to mention "oh yeah I ranked #1 in state" apart from ivy-league uni parties in your early 20s lol. The ranks just stop mattering after a decade or so

Yeah like u can still be successful with a mid atar. Like it only useful for med and law but after that you’ll end up in the same job as people who got high atars too. Like I’d rather not destroy my mental health and get a mid atar than to sacrifice my whole childhood to get a 99.95 which won’t even be useful in the workforce. Cause even if u get a high paying job half of it will be spent on therapy lol if u have to go through all that pain

Like hsc isn’t even that deep tbh. Like Ik people who had parents who dropped out in year 10 and there still working decent jobs like owning businesses (I think), aged care . Like it’s enough for them to live comfortably and as long as ur not that money driven that should be fine
