ah, sorry yea im not really good at explaining things sometimes. Well, basically horizontal velocity up to the point where you're in orbit is one mathematical scenario, with respect to horizontal velocity on the earth, maybe call that concept x. (Horizontal velocity for orbit to occur). So your context is "From X". Then escape velocity is another mathematical scenario, with respect to the gravitational pull on an object to the centre of the earth versus the objects speed. So that is also "From X", in the sense that both have 2 parts,
Horizontal Velocity for orbit to occur ties in with 1. Gravity and 2. Horizontal Velocity
Escape velocity ties in with 1. Gravity and 2. No more gravity
So the second part just adds a different context to the situation.
