You discuss what each text is saying about society during the time in which they were composed. You can get this through film techniques and what happens in the storyline. Also look at the eras they come from, ie. Romantic Era, etc.
The first thing to set up your essay would be to discuss these contextual differences for each text. As for not being able to 'control what we create', you should refer to both texts' warning as to pushing scientific boundaries, and what resulted from this happening.
