    Anyone know if this is true?

    Be especially careful of those Hunter School of Performing Arts people ;). Nobody knows what goes on in that school. But seriously, I find it hard to believe this story. The closest thing I've heard to it is a guy in Kempsey blowing out his brains with a hunting rifle in front of his class...

    Concentration span

    Before the midcourse I did 8 hours of chemistry study between lunch and tea and didn't lose concentration once. I can do the same with maths and physics, although german and english are just so boring, especially english.

    The Volumes Experience

    No you can't. I'm pretty sure you have to go from first principles, and if you do that you get marked wrong. Its easy to make mistakes that way anyway since it often isn't the case.

    Casual Work!

    I really need to work in the holidays, I'm going to Germany on exchange and I need shitloads of spending money, although I'll probably scab off the parents. P.S. Casmira, go to Germany, its all happening in Deutschland in 2006.

    Why is it necessary to prepare a secondary standard solution?

    The purpose is to find the concentration of the sodium hydroxide solution which you can't prepare a primary standard of. You then need this concentration to find the conc. of the acetic acid.

    90+ for chemistry

    Your moderated assessment mark doesn't depend on how well the subject scales at all, so I wouldn't assume this. I'd say low 80s though. I find it very hard to believe they'd give a band 6 for getting 70 something.

    logs question

    y=-e<sup>x</sup> y`=-e<sup>x</sup> At the point (1,-e), m=-e<sup>1</sup> m=-e So, the equation of the tangent is y-y<sub>1</sub>=m(x-x<sub>1</sub>) y-(-e)=-e(x-1) y+ex+e=e y+ex=0

    who thinks they have stuffed up???

    In my mind, if you hate maths and can't understand it, then advanced maths ain't for you. Its as simple as that.

    trials

    Yeah, the deduce ions part took us really long but that might have been because we had a crappy substitute teacher. We had to do the CFCs part of the syllabus for the research assignment and we did like 2 lessons on it in class. Apart from the deduce ions part of the syllabus its actually fairly...

    Would it be a good idea to know of any 4u techniques?

    4u polynomials makes a lot of difference but graphing isn't that important. The best thing to know in 4u polynomials for 3u is how to find the equation with roots a2, b2, etc given equation with roots a, b and c and stuff like that. It takes so little time to do it the 4u...

    We did geography in year 9 and 10? Lol, those years are a bit of a blur to me. But seriously, CMM is the biggest pile of rope learning. It gives me the shits.

    Graphsssss!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

    You only need as much calculus as is in the 3unit course. I wish I did CSSA, graphs are piss easy. Practicing doesn't help that much, you just have to be able to manipulate the graphs.

    HELP -->A few questions.

    I just realised, question 1 was in my last 4u test, except they lead you into it by first sketching y=x/(1-x2).

    HELP -->A few questions.

    With question 3, draw the circle on an argand diagram and use the angle between the x axis and the tangents to that circle from the origin to find the limits of argz. To find modz, draw a line going through the origin and the center of the circle and find the distance between where it touches...

    Potential Difference Needed

    They used an applied voltage making electrons go the other way and found the stopping voltage of the circuit ie. when no electrons moved around it. I don't know why they did this instead of just measured the voltage from the circuit with no battery. The battery in the ciruit is usully shown with...

    trials

    Man, you're gonna have to do a lot of research to catch up next term. CMM probably took the longest amount of time for us. I still don't know the date of mine, but it will probably be around week 4 or 5. It is on 3 cores and first 4 or 5 points of shipwrecks.

    Casual Work!

    I do refereeing on friday morning, saturday morning and sunday morning. I'll probably stop near the trials.

    question

    same, i haven't done a 2u exam yet because they're on at the same time. if you drop back to ext 1 they'd probably compare you with similar people to you and estimate marks.

    Chem Questions

    Does 3 mean the reason we use different colours for each ion? This is because of the difference of energy that can be absorbed by each metal ion. Since energy that can be absorbed by an ion is quantised (electrons can move between two shells, but not part way in between) there is only one...

    Hydrochlorofluorocarbons

    When HCFCs are oxidised in the troposphere what reactions can show the HCFC turning into hydrogen halides, carbon dioxide and water?
