    Explanation of HSC Marks (Moderating)

If you come 20th, you are correct, you will get the 20th person's (more or less) HSC exam mark as your HSC assessment mark. You are not necessarily rooted - you seem to be assuming that the 20th person is doing badly (which at the moment, remember, is YOU). If you get a high external mark, you...

    Explanation of HSC Marks (Moderating)

Your class rankings are exactly that, they are determined ONLY by your internal assessment mark. If you are coming 4th you get: HSC Mark: 90 ("guns blazing") Assessment mark = HSC Mark of whomever came 4th in the exam. HSC Mark: 80 Assessment Mark: 90 (as this was the HSC exam mark of the...

    What to learn in

Aren't you the one that thinks that an old skyline is a sensible choice in a car? ;) Edit: If you go from nothing to a big car, you will get used to it eventually, likewise with having no experience and going to a small car. Best thing to do is to get comfortable driving all the cars in your...

    What to learn in

L platers can drive anything, including cars propelled by jets that run on kool aid. P platers cannot drive cars with 8 or more cylinders nor can they drive turbocharged and/or supercharged cars unless they are diesel. I *think* this rule is waived if there is a supervising driver in the car...

    changing lanes

Also, anyone who goes to the rta website can see that there is no specified time for it.

    changing lanes

Show us where, in any RTA document that it says that then. It's 30m for turning and 5s for moving away from kerb. Lane changing is just "indicate".

    Explanation of HSC Marks (Moderating)

Road Runner, I don't think you quite understand. The marks you get from your school are (to simplify things) only to determine your rank. Think about it, if you got your raw school assessment mark, then every school would have to have the same assessments, which they don't. If you come first...

Present to self - after breakup

I don't think you are going to get too much advice on a forum where we are mostly the poor student demographic. :o

    Top 'speed' done and where?

In which case, it depends on your car and the road as to whether you can go smoothly at high speed in a straight line, NOT SKILL. It's funny how a bogans greatest achievements in life are speeding and tagging. Hit a tree and die already.

Lol, probably prefers some american crap to tasteful european cars. ;)

    What to learn in

Bigger to smaller = easier. Driving NOTHING to big car = hard. lol, the logic is incredible here. Apparently going from a sedan to an SUV is hard, but going from no driving experience to an SUV, then back to the sedan is both smarter and easier? Have you ever noticed that you don't start with a...

Present to self - after breakup

I'd wait for the new BMW 1 series coupé. Sure, you'll have to keep your really really old car for a little longer, but I'm sure it will last.

P plate test tmoro RYDE RTA

*Only at traffic lights. The reason they get you to do a 3 point turn is that it's harder than a U-Turn, so they assume if you can do a 3 point turn, you can also do a U-turn.

P plate test tmoro RYDE RTA

You definitely do a kerbside stop, which may or may not be on a hill. There's no real "hill start" item anymore, as they are throughout the test. The other manoeuvre is random from angle park, reverse parallel park or 3 point turn (in some areas one type of park is more likely than another).

    First Car - $5k

Hairdressers can afford Porsches? :o Here I am doing the HSC + uni like a sucker! :D

    First Car - $5k

Meh, some people are just insecure and need to buy some POS to compensate for something. The MX5 is a great car - especially the newer coupe-cabriolet version.

    First Car - $5k

Shouldn't you love them then? ;)

    Traffic lights

Are there any specific light situations you don't understand that you want explained?

    Performance driving q

Fair enough, sometimes it can make things smoother on cold days too. It will save wear on both syncros and clutch, but I don't know how much difference it will make in the long run. Hopefully that answers your question.
