    Sydney Uni Commerce Society

What makes a society great? The ability for members to have a say in the everyday running of such a society? The ability for members to congregate and meet and socialise on a regular basis? The ability for all members to have an understanding of how the system works, and participate in it? The...

Is UWS all that bad or is it an ok uni to go to???

I know at least 2 lecturers at usyd that also teach or used to teach at UWS. 2 being a fairly large number considering the few number of lecturers I have had (7).

    Sydney Uni Commerce Society

Then maybe my best mate is a guide dog because I haven't seen much of what they've done. They might have actually done a lot of stuff, it might be the best society in the entire universe, but what's the use if no one knows about it due to the lack of advertising? I know it's all student...

Is UWS all that bad or is it an ok uni to go to???

Not sure, the starting salary for graduates is less than graduates from other unis. In general anyway. Think it was in the Good Unis guide last year. But then again, theres a reason not to believe it, a guide that disses usyd is a guide not to be trusted :p

Is UWS all that bad or is it an ok uni to go to???

It's not that dangerous in the Western Suburbs. I'm more scared wandering around the city at night than the west. Some suburbs may have a bad press reputation, but you can't generalise the entire Western Suburbs based on the occasional "Cutting press" report in the Sunday Tabloids, written by...

Is UWS all that bad or is it an ok uni to go to???

There's nothing wrong with living in Western Sydney, it's a perfectly nice place to live. A lot of the UWS courses are better (as in more practical, more modern) than the big 3, but it's just the other unis are more prestigious.

What is each uni good for?

They gave really crap rooms for the HSC lectures. Most of the other rooms in that building have nice comfy chairs. Either that or it's been upgraded since last year . Carslaw's not that bad. Some rooms are bad, but there's some which have been refitted with new seats. And there's this room...

    macfields and hurlstone

There's nothing wrong with Hurlstone. The only reason people may not want to go to Hurlstone is because it's a bit strict, or used to be anyway. But then after you graduate, you look back and realise that it is the dicipline that gives the school it's good reputation amongst the community...

    Sydney Uni Commerce Society

Sydney Uni Comsoc sucks 1. They don't do anything. The major event of the year is like the comsoc ball. 2. It sucks in comparison to UNSW comsoc. 3. There's hardly any publicity. You'd think that out of all the members of comsoc, there'd be someone doing marketing, and perhaps apply...

    macfields and hurlstone

School in Hurlstone is what you make of it. You can be a real bum like me and spend 6 years doing nothing and getting nothing out of it, or you can do all the extra curricular activities, like interact, cadets, chess, tournament of minds, rural youth, debating, mock trial, band, vocal emsemble...

    advanced courses and other q's

on liberal studies (internationa) I think you have to maintain a credit average on that because you have to "represent the uni" overseas. They don't give you money for that, you have to make your own way there, pay your own airfares and accomodation. You don't have to pay tutition fees of the...

Ok people....i need some important info!

the saturation of asians at unis also depend on the course. eg. arts usyd- 10% asian commerce usyd- 90% asian, of that 90%, it seems like 65% are international students 99% wanting to do a double major in accounting/finance and be CPA accredited 50% of people from NESB backgrounds...

    syd cutting numbers?

it's no surprise they don't publish it on their website, might scare away potential students. It was published in one of those left wing union free education newspapers that you pick up from uni that all the students doing economic history recieved a letter in the mail about it. The article...

What is each uni good for?

For f*'s sake, must you be so rude? Each person's perspective of what a uni is like depends on what uni they go to, what course they do, and a whole lot of other factors. There is no black and white, usyd good unsw bad thing. If you want to see for yourself what a uni is like, go to the open...

Which Uni for computer system engineer?

if you work overseas wouldn't Sydney be more famous than NSW because of the Olympics. Every idiot knows that Sydney, the Sydney is in Australia (not the Canadian one) but where's NSW? Is it in the UK somewhere?
