    Help !!!

I think you meant infs 1000 instead of info2000, and infs is in semester 2 ecmt 1020 is also not a compulsory subject, unless you're doing CPA accounting i.e. you get 1 elective per semester, so you would probably want to do subjects from the same major so you can do the senior units

Arts/Comm - degree composition in first year ..

You have to do 6 compulsory junior commerce units, but you don't have to do it all in your first year if you don't want to. You have to do 240 credit points all together One junior unit is usually = 6 credit points One senior unit is usually = 8 credit points You can do up to 100 credits...

There are 3 different streams of chinese at usyd Beginners Intermediate (as in you can speak a bit of it, but you can't really read or write any) Native (can read, write, speak etc) You have to see the department so they can sort you into a stream.

Welcome to Usyd Business and Economics!!!

Hey Zannaz what first year subjects are you doing next year? I'm doing the same thing as you, second year of arts/commerce. Don't know what I find scarier, first year of uni or being a second year stuck in a room full of first years! I'm doing first year accounting, marketing and hrm next...

    welcome to arts!!1

With B Ec you have to major in either economics or econometrics, and you can also do a second major or minor in some other commerce subjects. You can do economics with a BA as a second major, i.e. you have to major in another arts subject (something from the Table A units)

    School Uniforms

I'm not sure what school this is, I think some sort of a private catholic one, but I saw them once around the city and they had white shirts with camel coloured pants. It sounds disgusting, but it actually looked quite nice, something different to the college grey.

    A Request For Readings.

Bare minimum depends on what you can get away with not reading. eg in the first year philosophy courses, the assessment is 1 essay based on the first part of the course (i.e. society for phil 1010 and reality for phil 1011). After that essay, you don't have to do any more assessments on that...

    Not being multi-talented person

Dude it's never too late. I, like you was the non participating type at school. But it's important to join things at uni, because it's part of the uni life experience. You may think to yourself, "I'll make friends within my lectures and tutes" but when there's 300 other people in the room and...

    A Request For Readings.

Having finished both PHIl courses, I can't say I've completly read and understood everything in both readers. There are still some bits that I haven't read yet, and will never read. The bare minimum for me!

    A Request For Readings.

Are you sure you want to start reading before semester starts? Most of the readers are long and tedious, and i think they might change from year to year depending on whos taking the course. Also, it's not like an entire text or anything, just selected relevant pages and extracts that you may not...

    question about languages

It depends on the language at usyd, and the department eg. Chinese department makes you take an informal test, while latin is based on what you did in the hsc. I don't think it makes a difference, so long as you enrol in the one you are most comfortable with.

    usyd vs uts for commerce/science

The Physics building at Usyd looks nice. It's so... clean looking, it has so much character... i'd say it's the third nicest building in usyd after the main quad and anderson stuart building (the other sandstone buiding facing main quad). Oh.. you want more than aesthetics? Commerce at...

    Usyd Marketing

$550 isn't union fee, it's union fee, SRC and sports union and plus a joining fee if you're new. Actual union fee's only around $200-300.

Is UWS all that bad or is it an ok uni to go to???

I think you get more individual attention at the "low prestige" unis whereas at usyd/nsw they chuck you in with a lectureroom full of 400 other students (350 of them being international students)

    course cut-offs for diff unis

Thought I'd offer a pro UWS viewpoint here A lot of the UWS courses are better than courses in the GO8 unis, because it's more practical based, while the more traditional unis may be based more on theory. UWS courses are not bad, as mentioned before, it's a demand thing. I get the impression...
