    Favourite Character?

I thought she actually seemed more respectable in the film than in the book.

Hehe.. this site getting mentioned on smh.. interesting

Yeah...but someone along the way must hace figured that the fact that it was down=the site has been forced to close down. Which is pretty presumptuous.

Which Uni's in sydney would you consider part of the elite?

USYD and UNSW are definately considered the most elite. I would say UTS after that, then Macquarie.
  4. B

    Favourite Character?

Rob from Nick Hornbys 'High Fidelity'

    World Idol

Even if Cosima did get in...Guy still would have won out of them. As for hosts-every country is sending along a host. Ours is that guy with the blonde hair who always stares oddly...don't know his name.

Money/Prestige or PASSION? Uni Course Selection!

True, maybe "passion" is a bit of a strong word for most high school leavers. I did not feel "passionate" about the course I chose, it was just one that seemed to be along the lines of what I could see myself doing, and something I thought I would enjoy. It is hard to chose if you don't feel...

Has Anyone Questioned the Fact that..

I think instead of learning how to analyse Shakespeare we should have been learning some basic grammar! So many high school students are graduating with shit english skills. (myself included, I cannot deny.)

    Stupid White Americans

It is a simple fact, but a simple fact George Bush doesn't seem too concerned by. He was rather vocal about going to war with Iraq with or without UN approval.

    Stupid White Americans

Yes, um... is on the ball. I'm not denying that Sadaam was a baddie, I just find it a tad hard to believe that George Bush is a hero with lovely, pure intentions, who strived selflessly to benefit the human race. Capturing Sadaam just seems like a loophole to make it appear that way.

    Work from home

I've been signed up for a few weeks and have only gotton sent 2 emails for 5 points each...but when I click on the link to claim the points, the window opens with an error message, so I don't even get the points. (hmmm, how convenient!) So...I think it's a bit of a waste of time!

    Why is HP so famous?

I usually hate fantasy as well...I was thinking that maybe the reason I could handle Harry Potter is because his character started off as just a regular person and had to have all the magic stuff explained to him, and people go to school to learn it and occassionally fuck things up and...

Most violent death sequence in a movie ...

That movie was one big long death scene.

2003ers- Memorized Essays vs Adaptive Knowledge of Text

Well, you would deserve to fail if you memorise an essay but don't actually the text in addition to what you've memorised! The only problem I ran into when I did the HSC was when we had to write an interview...my memorised essay flew straight out the window. But I think it still went OK.

Has Anyone Questioned the Fact that..

To survive in the world, you do not need year 11 or 12 maths. Unless you have a job centred around maths, you won't be using it ever again. I think many of us would benefit from studying English after year 10...but the syllabus is pretty fucked. I don't think I learned anything worthwhile.
  16. B

Most violent death sequence in a movie ...

I don't think I've ever seen a violent screen death. Deprived child. But worse death scene was in the Green Mile where that guy got the electric chair, but that shifty guy didn't wet the sponge in his har or something...yuck.

Possible to change from Full fee to HECS?

I think some people are getting confused with paying fees up front, and full fee paying. Paying up front is just paying your HECS fee straight away and getting the discount (the cheapest way to pay). Full fee paying is much more expensive, the appeal being a lower UAI cut off.

    Overseas Destinations

I want to go to somewhere with a lot of history, like Greece or Rome.
  19. B

Money/Prestige or PASSION? Uni Course Selection!

I always wonder what the popularity for courses like Law would be like if they added a heap of new places and the UAI dropped right down...
