I know I'll regret this, but...

Re: Try this one... firstly, it's De-moivre's thm, not Moivre's mod-arg form means find modulus and argument by plotting 1+i and 1-i (there's heaps of other ways to figure argument out, the most common being figuring out the quadrant, and then applying tan-1), you get arg(1+i) = pi/4...

    Maths summaries and notes

4u maths summaries don't get any better than the ones you find in textbooks, IMHO

People who got >90 in subjects: how did you study?

Oh, and lemme compile a list of things you DON'T do when studying: 1) 22 hours a week of tuition (for all you maths ppl, it approximates to 2 hours a unit) And for all you maths ppl, assuming an average of $25 an hour, what would be your expenses per week? 2) Studying till 3a.m., and then...

People who got >90 in subjects: how did you study?

'Slice of Heaven' and 'drolle' congrats to both of u (and to everyone else) But i liked the contrast between the two ways of studying. Slice of Heaven having done "excessive studying" to the verge of a breakdown, and drolle doin most of the work staying awake in class. Personally, I've...

    anyone else agree with this?

methinks having ur name on the paper isn't a big woohoo especially when a zillion other names are on it so i dun really care that much if the media doesn't recognise the smarter pplz i jus think the media doesn't know enough to appreciate it

People who got >90 in subjects: how did you study?

I guess there's different study methods for different subjects: english: write write write sciences: cram cram cram maths: think think think

I know I'll regret this, but...

Now, for any 2003 year 12's who are doing extension 2 next year: From my experience, a lot of ppl get stumped on one or two particular questions and then they get discouraged and enter some chronic depression state. So, if that happens to any of you, feel free to post any extension 2 (or...

    Getting Marks before 6am

hehe...you guys mean "lets look at it as how effective has the HSC been in measuring our intellect"
  17. S

Is any1 going to wait till 20th for results rather than the 19th?

I reckon it's better to get whatever marks you can at the earliest day you can get it. You'd feel a lot worse when everyone knows their marks and you don't. Blissful ignorance isn't my kind of happiness.

    Something Weird!!!

No, you're not weird. And if at any one dream you managed to find out what the problem is, post it here so we can all have a crack at it.

    Stoichiometric problem...

in barium phosphate, the percentage phosphate is constant. it's equal to the mass of 2 units of phosphate, over the total formula mass of the barium phosphate. so barium phosphate always has 31.56% phosphate. so if you have 0.32g barium phosphate, you'll have 31.56% * 0.32g phosphate

    Stoichiometric problem...

    I beg to differ pplz. Chudymaster was right with 1010ppm in the first place. Data: (NB: FW means formula weight) FW(Ba3(PO4)2) = 601.84 FW(PO4) = 94.97 Mass phosphate / mass barium phosphate = (94.97 * 2) / 601.9 = 189.94 / 601.84 = .3156 Now mass Ba3(PO4)2 = 0.32g so mass...
