    some one help me plz

    1. The less the first ionisation energy, the more reactive a metal is, as the less the energy required to remove one electron from the outmost shell of an atom, the easier it is to let the metal react (as metals are usually electron donors). 2. I don't quite see th reason of using "but"...

    Question

lol maybe, but Kujah said that it's from the 05 SC, which is what we've done last year :p So I was just commenting on how it's a bit strange that I recall absolutely nothing like it...then again. Who bothers remembering exam questions after they're done. XP

    Discovery Days?

Yeah...:( I'm not sure if I'd have to wear school uniform, I guess we'd get more information on that later :D Actually, most of my friends are still yet to register :p I guess I've just got too much time to spend on the net anyhow, so might as well sign up earlier to get the sessions that I...

Acceleration due to gravity in Projectile motions

Exactly. Since he assigned the upwards direction positive, gravity is ALWAYS negative as it is therefore against the positive direction :)

    Discovery Days?

So I'm going on the first day, same as you. Right. :D Hmm, don't think I've got many preferences in common with you though...:p Session 2: Photonics: Putting Light to Work, Mathematics from Numb3rs, Live and Let Liver; Session 3: Engineering Our Future - Computer, Electrical &...

    How was your school day?

Ha, I do that all the time :o It seems pretty common that we easily fall asleep in the afternoons but are very alert at night...must be some biological reasons :D There was an issue of New Scientist that reported on how teenagers cannot help but feel drowsy during the day: we're in "permanent...

    Discovery Days?

I'm apparently going on Tuesday, as it said on my "lecture info" or something (yes I finally found my student number and registered :D). I tried to find the actual dates for these Discovery Days, but I can't seem to find them...when are they exactly anyway? So, which lectures did you choose? For...

    How was your school day?

Judging from previous HSC years, we WILL be very sick of the word next year :o

    Discovery Days?

Hmm, think I've heard of that Degree in a Day thing before. When would that be? Haha m0ofin, I know, doesn't look like anyone else (yet) is going too :p And it's compulsory for us, as the daily announcement today said. Hum.

soooooo not ready to start year 12

Well, my school trials are always in early- to mid-August. So I presume it'll be around the same for you?
  16. airie

    How was your school day?

^Ooh, so you're doing Critical Study of Texts first? We're doing King Lear for that too. How come you start with module B though? Just curious :p

    alkanes alkenes etc.

The fact that it can form hydrocarbons doesn't mean that's the only thing it can make. There are so many carbon compounds due to a few factors: - it has four valence electrons, thus it can donate OR accept up to four electrons, usually the maximum for all atoms (exclude the "unusual"...

Acceleration due to gravity in Projectile motions

Actually... He DID assign upwards as the positive direction, so gravity IS always against the positive direction :)
  19. airie

    alkanes alkenes etc.

Because it is more energetically economic in doing so ie. it has more of a tendency to bond with hydrogen than with other carbon atoms. Basically, if bond A is easier to make than bond B, bond A will occur.

    How was your school day?

That might have helped with his imagination ;) You know, we just discussed the purposes of imaginative journeys today in class. Here are some reasons: to escape the reality, to create own ideals, self-empowerment in that you control what happens... Sounds a lot like some pathetic cynics...
