Does Anyone Know How The School Certificate Is Marked

Unless they get 100 raw? Percentile is basically a rank. Read your competition result sheets, that's what they use. For example, if you're at the xth percentile, it means that x% of your cohort is doing about the same as you or worse than you.

    What School Certificate?

Think whatever you want. It's your own SC, anyway :D

    slant asymptoes-i cant understand it

o.0 Do you mean the graph of a function y=u/v, where both u and v are functions of x, on a Cartesian plane? Like, y=(x3+2x2-5)/(x+1)? If so, you NEVER simply divide the whole expression in x by "highest power of x", but you rearrange the expression. In the example above, the degree of the...

What do you think you're going to get in SC?

Not the marks you'll get for the SC exams (on record of achievement A - I think, or the other way around :p), but they should determine the grades that your school gives you (on record B).

what raw marks you need for band 5/6 (merged)

Re: what raw marks you need for band 5/6 Unless you cross it out and make it clear that you don't want them to mark it, they should take all your writing into account. Nodice, maybe the BOS is just being cheap with their paper :p Or they're trying to get you to write less to gain the...

calculus to prove angle of maximum range (projectile)

It's just...three lines o.0 I think you could just state that between angles 0 to 180 degrees, sin(2 theta) is maximum at 1 when 2 theta is 90 degrees. But you could do it whatever way to your liking :D

    Projectile Motion-help

You're welcome chocolate_lover :) Tell me the ext 1 maths method of doing it :D I'm yet to do the topic in maths at school :p

    How was your school day?

One of us would have to change the "Gender" option in our profile otherwise XD

soooooo not ready to start year 12

Guess what am I doing right now? A research sheet on Romanticism that was supposed to be due, erm, last week. *cough* *shifty eyes* I'm surprised. :o

    How was your school day?

No way you go to my school. That's not an option to consider. Is it? :p

calculus to prove angle of maximum range (projectile)

Must you use calculus? Otherwise you could just work from delta(y)=0 (I'm assuming it is here for your case :p), use the formula delta(y) = uyt + 0.5ayt2, where uy = u sin(theta), u being the initial velocity and theta the angle this velocity vector makes with the horizontal. Since you know ay...

    How was your school day?

O.O Gee, I had mufti day too. Now that's just scary :p It was for the SRC fundraising, everyone gave a gold coin donation for wearing mufti :p

    Projectile Motion-help

At max height, vy = 0, ie. vy = uy + ayt = 0. And ay is just gravity and equals -9.8ms-2, uy = u sin(theta), so you can work out t. Then sub this value into the formula delta(y) = uyt + 0.5ayt2 to get delta(y). I'm assuming the landing point of the object is level with the point of launch...

    i want to change schools

Many schools don't accept new year 12s (it's a bit late now to apply as a new year 11), but some still do. Ask around.

What do you think you're going to get in SC?

It does. Otherwise I see no way how I got something like 93 for history <.<
  18. airie

What do you think you're going to get in SC?

o.0 What happens is that the committee decides what raw mark gets the borderline mark ie. 90, 80, 70 etc, and they assign a mark to you based on your raw mark on a linear scale. So for example, if your raw mark is half way between the raw mark that'll get you an aligned mark of 80 and one...

Uniform Circular Motion Question about Experiment

Yes g is gravity, 9.8ms-2. Remember to convert your measurements to SI units though: in this case you should put 0.25kg instead of 250g, and solving the equation will get you the mass of the rubber in kg. EDIT: And that velocity does look right to me :)

    parametrics help please!

Put in parametric form, P1(2ap,ap2), P2(2a/p,a/p2). Since the tangent to the parabola at a point (2at,at2) has gradient t, the parameter at the point, and use point-gradient form, the equations of the tangents at P1 and P2 are y=px-ap2 and y=x/p-a/p2. Solve simultaneously, one obtains...
