Need some help from current accounting students (it's for an exam)

Haven't done Accounting for a long time but hope I can help with the limited time left... a) The bottom line of an accrual P&L gets transferred to the balance sheet in the "Current Years Earnings" bit as the business owes the owner that money (like a liability). Cash flow statement helps to...

Almost done BCom (finance), what other degree would you do?

If you Google 'lawyer' and 'shortage' you get articles such as: Rural lawyer shortage 'to get worse' Not sure about prospects without a law degree but know of someone local working towards the Diploma in the hope to doing their admission to practice afterwards... LEC - Future Students or...

QUT, UQ or Griffith? Opinions please!

Griffith's Criminology can be done by distance through Open Uni's (www.open.edu.au), they have 4 study periods a year so you may be able to fast track it to under 2 years if that's important to you....

Almost done BCom (finance), what other degree would you do?

Sense of community, can buy a decent house for under $250K-$350K (depending on region), integral part of the local professions, can do 'tick and flick' conveyancing and still make a good living, you get to be a big fish in a little pond, can set up your own practice, can get a more varied...

    Primary v Secondary - Thoughts???

Firstly, google 'Primary teacher oversupply' - there isn't a huge teacher shortage in that area unless you want to do casual work (kiss home loan application goodbye) or go to a rural area. Maths and Science secondary teachers are very much in demand. If you are worried about getting a job...

    Can I get in?

As I mentioned in a different thread - you can do Curtin University's Bach of Ed (Primary) with pretty much no entry requirements by distance via Open Uni's (www.open.edu.au). It's accredited in other states and you can do pracs locally. Try and aim for secondary teaching though, there's an...

    Mature Age Students :)

I was 22 when I went back to uni to do secondary teaching (didn't finish it, but life got in the way).... anywho, it was great during tutes because even that extra little bit of life experience helped heaps and was appreciated. But back at the dorms, I was treated like an outdated granny! My...

    courses ur doing

Don't know about 2010, but in 2009 the Dip in Children's Services was free at TAFE (thank you K Rudd). The first 1/4 is the Cert III anyway - might be worthwhile jumping in at Dip level to start with.

If you want something practical and can get a fairly OK ATAR... What about Bachelor of Industry Computing at Charles Sturt University ? Tafe courses

TAFE isn't just an 'easy uni' - it's competency based training (either you know stuff or you don't) and is a good training ground to get you 'skills' - be they trade skills or vocational skills. There are teacher's aide programs at TAFE but you would have to ask the uni that you want to go...

OUA don't have entry requirements (www.open.edu.au). They have a 4yr equivalent Primary Ed degree through Curtin Uni but if you want to do secondary you can do a Griffith or Macquarie Uni Arts degree if you want to be and English/History/Politics etc teacher then do a Dip Ed afterwards to be...

BSc in 2yrs instead of 3yrs

If you want to be super crazy - you can do a 3 year degree (incl RMIT's Bach of Science in Biotechnology or Bioscience) quite easily with Open Uni's in 1.5 years (depending on the order you do your pre-req's though). How? They have 4 study periods a year. www.open.edu.au

Unis that take only UAI with less than 1 yr FT study (ALL fails)?

    Study both chemistry and medicine?

Last time my daughter had surgery, I thanked the (waiting forever for) surgeon once for finally doing the straightforward job he had to do and the nursing staff about 50 times as they had a wide spectrum of how that could perform their jobs and they chose the high end. Each to their own, I...

    No Award Study

No Award Study means you study, but you don't get an award (e.g. piece of paper that says you have earned a Bachelor or Masters degree).
