    Event Management Help

Seriously don't discount the Diploma of Events at TAFE, lots of practical skills, hit the ground running. If you finish the degree you'll have to start at the bottom anyway, it's that kind of industry.

    What to do if...

Get the cheat-sheet books/study guides that Excel produce. Look on ebay for used ones. Download the syllabus from BOS so you know what the HSC markers are after rather than relying on your teacher's interpretation of it. If all goes to hell, you can do a Biology degree (Bach of Science (Applied...

    Tafe to Uni? Urban planning

Yes that does make it a B.U.R.P degree :)

    Tafe to Uni? Urban planning

List UNE's Bach of Urban & Regional Planning as your next preference (do it by distance if you don't want to move) - it'll be easier to get into plus chances are you'll get more credits for your time and effort than TAFE.

Is Billy Blue graphics school good or not??

CSU do Graphic Design/Multimedia (the GD single degree can be done by distance too). Uni teaches you theoretical stuff like the history and development of design, how the media industry works etc, not just how to make pretty commercial pics (which is what some ppl want).

please can some one help me

Well more like an Access database rather than Excel but hey. MYOB is a bookkeeping program (i.e. basic accounting). You can download a free student test drive from Accounting software, payroll software and business solutions - MYOB Australia or go to a library and borrow The Complete Idiot's...

Brief question about my future career

Certificate IV in Training and Assessment: Can be completed within a week or two + only trains you to be a trainer (yes, and an assessor).... not an educator. You have lots of knowledge, the students have little or no knowledge, you impart knowledge and tick a box to deem them competent. Very...

    Question About TAFE

Seriously, has no one heard of Open Uni's??? Real degrees from real uni's with no entry requirements: www.open.edu.au + pay for it later with FEE-HELP. Lots of ppl do a couple of subjects with them and use that as entry to an on-campus place... nothing like doing uni work to prove you are...

Advice needed about a B Education Course

Thought about finishing then doing an add-on Ed course (Dip Ed/Masters Teaching etc)? Looked at Griffith's or MQ's Arts degrees via OUA www.open.edu.au ? You might even get credit for your Diploma in Journalism for the Journo major... maybe... do second major in Literature? Career wise -...

Brief question about my future career

Thought about casual TAFE teaching? $63/hr, no teaching degree required, put up with students who actually want to learn...

    Distance Education

Not sure about post grad but undergrad... they know their stuff in terms of DE. Tutors respond well. Check to see if course is online or you actually get print outs of the course material. Good forum interaction. CSU has way more DE than on-campus students - so you don't get forgotten about...

Are physical changes to a sample destructive testing?

What about melting ice - physically changed but can go back?

    How Does HECS work?

Nursing has lots of stuff to buy for but there are heaps of scholarships around. Don't just look to your uni, the nursing associations and many not-for-profits support nursing students. Even maybe your local council. Plus check out secondhand stuff on ebay from ex-students or dropouts

Can someone show me a sample TPC cert??

Can I ask why the TPC? Why not a uni based preparation course (if that's where you are headed)? Or a relevant course at TAFE (Cert IV in Tourism will help you get into a Tourism degree plus give you some credits, no guarantees though) Or do some distance ed subjects (including some prep ones...

    Summer School Unit price increase!!!!

I think CSU only has full fee for summer. Have you looked at doing an equivalent ECO subject through Open Uni's and getting credit for it in your current degree... you can whack it on FEE-HELP and subjects are often only about $800...? ECO11 Microeconomics 1 (Previously Economic Principles)...

    Careers after uni..

Yah, Speech Pathologists, Occupational Therapists, Diversional Therapists, Physio's and other allied health positions all have good prospects if you read the government reports... don't underestimate the ageing population.

Should I Drop Out Of Uni & Go To Tafe?

CSU has a great hands-on Television Production course... one would think a lot of the principles of TV would lend themselves to film production.

    getting into education/teaching through tafe?

Short answer: no TAFE course will qualify you directly to be a school teacher but.... Long answer: You may be able to do a TAFE course (usually Cert IV or higher) and get credits for a uni course (usually in place of the electives, see UNE's Bachelor of Teaching/General Studies) later, but you...
