    5 Years Too long?

Is a year or two really all that much in the big picture? Compared to the 40 or so years of using that degree and retiring at a ripe old age of 60, a year or two is not a big difference.

    chem1011 question..

I did the pre-lab test today; took 20 minutes or so. It's pretty easy and you can't really mess it up either, as most of it's just copying stuff off the screen with minimal thinking. Don't worry :) Though, you'll have to complete the sheets (found in your course-pack - pages 7-10) and hand...

It's so damn boring!! Our lecturer is a specialist in fungi (or something like that)! She just drones on and on and on...I even fell asleep in both her lectures!

About missing out on lectures, there are the lecture notes, which you can download. Reading these and listening to the recordings should make things clearer.

    chem1011 question..

I haven't done it actually :p The test's called "Safety and Ethics in the Laboratory" so that should give you a general idea as to what it'll be on. You go to the computer labs in the Heffron building, open up some program and complete some questions on a sheet. You hand this sheet after...

    chem1011 question..

Just remember that you need to do a pre-lab computer-based test before you're allowed into a lab lol. You'll need to by the course manual to be able to this as there's a sheet inside for you to fill out.

When to pay upfront for HECS help

I know this might sound stupid, but do full-deferrals mean I make no upfront payment? I postpone all payments (excluding Student Fees) and only start paying when I graduate and earn over a certain amount a year ($35,000 a year from what I've been told)?

    enrolment in labs?

The ones I remember are: Tuesday 11am - 12pm Wednesday 11am - 12pm Not sure if there are anymore though. When you call up they'll list all the times anyways, so you shouldn't going off my dodgy memory lol.

    enrolment in labs?

The handbook doesn't mention anything about having to call up to enrol for CHEMxxxx courses...does it? Plus when I enrolled into CHEM1011 and CHEM1021, lab and tutes were already available to add.

    Double Majors

Thanks a lot guys! :D Much appreciated!!
  15. W

    Double Majors

hahahah...what I'm trying to say is... Will I end up with 2 majors if I have more than 12 Level II units and 6 Level III units common between the two areas of specialisation?
  16. W

    Double Majors

I know that I'll be able study any course as long as I have the right prerequisites. It's just that if I have more than two Level II courses and one Level III course common, then I'll only major in one area?
  17. W

    Double Majors

Could someone explain to me what this means? "Where a student does Majors in two cognate areas that have courses in common, a student may be permitted to have up to 12 units at Level II and 6 units at Level III be counted towards each Major sequence." Does it mean that I can study only 12...
