    Welcome NEW IT/Comp Sci section

Note that this depends on the uni. Although this seems to be the case at UTS and USyd (based on conversations with friends), UNSW is still very much acedimic, not bowing to the hype of new stuff (no .net taught for instance)

    Cherry OS

wireless isn't basic, it is not standard in anything (although it should be). But you are right, the chaep model is v basic, however it is a good buy as a 2nd PC if you want MacOSX, and don't need massive HDD and other things since you have other comp.

    LATN1000 - Introductory Latin A Lectures

Wow, that's annoying. First thing to note is that most rooms have a schedual pined up on the door, so you cna check that if you think you are in the wrong place. Maybe your lect told everyone last lec about the move. I guess the only thing you can do now is wait for an email form the lec, and...

    LATN1000 - Introductory Latin A Lectures

You are not a stupid first year, things in uni tend not to be explained well. A "permitted" clash means that you have two (or more) classes on at the same time, but myUNSW will let you enroll in both of them. In practicle terms, it means you must choose which of the two (or more) classes to...

    first day

My first day entailed sitting outside the lecture theater for 20 mins 'cause it was locked, and the lec didn't have a key, and then being given an assignment. Thankgod I have today off to recover.

    Actuary Q: MATH1151 or MATH1141

http://www.cse.unsw.edu.au/seng/Programs/BE-BCom-actuarial/ In the table for stage 1 it states you can do either 1141 or 1151. You should then be able to use 1141 to exclude you from pre-reqs that say 1151. The best person to contact is Ken Robinson, our SENG Co-ordinator.

    new ipod mini

To answer a few questions: - The new iPod mini (Gen 2) is $299 for a 4G model. You can get this for 10% less at Apple resellers (such as the one on the UNSW campus) - The old iPod mini (Gen 1) is being sold off cheap, but is not worth it, as it has a battery life FAR worse than the Gen 2...
