Moisturisers! What do you use? Does it work?

For my face I use Garnier Fresh quenching moisturising fluid... it's really nice and light, leaves my skin feeling good, not oily, but moisturised. For legs etc I love Body Butter from the body shop... even though its bloody expensive. Even more expensive at the body shop in the UK, lucky I...

    Communications:Roll Call!/Getting to know you!

Oh crap, I will still be in Europe in March and June. Maybe they will advertise for one later, there is usually one that starts in August or September. Hopefully....

    semester dates?

There is even less uni if you are a communications student, because there is no exams. We only have 26 weeks of classes in the whole year... that's like half the year is uni half is hols!

I did not get to get to use PREFERENCE TIMES at all.

Are your friends studying communications? I don't think you get to have any say in what classes you are in in first year communications.

    Media and Communications

UTS's courses are also BAs. It's just the title really, the degrees are very media/comms focused rather than generalist arts degrees.

    Media and Communications

I go to UTS (well, I'm in London right now, but I normally go to UTS) so if you have any questions about the journalism degree feel free to ask. You should read up all the information in the course handbooks, because at UTS you have to pick an area of communications to specialize in (e.g...

    Communications:Roll Call!/Getting to know you!

Do you know if they are taking enrolments for Teeline for second semester yet? I need to do that course when I get back to Australia.

I dont know if i should stay in a uts residence. Help me :(

They were renovating Bulga when I left Sydney to come over the UK, but basically Bulga is similar to Gumal anyway except not as new. The rooms and flats are a bit bigger there I think, there is a common area downstairs and also a bbq area. It's pretty close to uni still, it only takes a minute...

Creative writing in a BA or other degree

Your best bet is probably to transfer to an arts degree at a university in the city where you can pick writing modules alongside languages and asian studies. That way you can combine your interests. Melbourne or Sydney universities (think Macquarie, Deakin, La Trobe Bundoora, Melbourne...

    Building 6: the DESIGN BUILDING.

There is a cafe where all the artsy folk hang out and a courtyard. Other than that it is just a building... with classrooms and lecture theatres and offices like most uni buildings.

    Communications:Roll Call!/Getting to know you!

I've never been to uni on a Friday.... except for now, in the UK I have a Friday class every now and then which is slightly annoying, but I have Mondays off instead.

    Balancing uni and casual work

In the UK, basically all students are eligible for student loans and student bursaries from the government which means that far fewer students here work while studying (and if they do, they only work a little bit, nobody I have met so far works more than 15 hours a week). I'm not entirely sure...

    Becoming a Journalist

I think that all the posts people have made are valid and show good examples of how diverse a sector media is... you just need to find the right path for you. I am interested in media policy and theory and all of that so I have found my degree interesting and useful, but people are right there...

    need advice-changing majors

.... or just stay at uni forever. I'm probably doing an honours year... hmm then doing postgrad study sounds fun too..... hmmm then after that..... ladidahdidah I don't want to enter the real world!

    England

I'm on the Metropolitan Line.... Northwick Park/Harrow-on-the-hill. If you are bored I won't be doing much on Friday and Saturday I don't think.... you could come to my uni bar, pound a pint night is tomorrow, it's top stuff lol. Harrow is not a very exciting place. Which end you at...

    Communications:Roll Call!/Getting to know you!

It's so much better to have your lectures and tutes together than having a gap in between... I had in first year a class where the lecture was 9-10, and the tute was 3-5.... I went to that lecture about twice, I couldn't be bothered to crawl out of bed for it in the morning. It will not wear you...

Why is an ABN required for tutors with an agency?

If you want it to count towards your earnings to get YA you should probably get an ABN (it's really easy, you just apply online). Just be careful though, because it means you will have to pay tax on any of your earnings at the end of the financial year. Also, you need to keep documentation in...

    Becoming a Journalist

RMIT has a good course, I'm sure you will enjoy it. UTS has a good course too, but not that thousands of dollars a year in fees extra you would be paying to do full fee... But yes, by news journalist, I meant being an everyday reporter type, rather than for example writing fashion copy for a...

    Communications:Roll Call!/Getting to know you!

You don't get to pick any subjects in first year so you don't need to do timetables or anything.

    England

People were right, it's been getting colder! Grr! But at least I'm used to the weather now. There is kinda a novelty factor to having to rug up and wear multiple layers... but the novelty is wearing off lol. But England is pretty awesome, lots to do etc. The exchange rate is an absolute...
