    statement tees

We stock some pretty funny ones where I work from an American brand called Five Crown: "Friends don't let friends wear mullets" with a drawing of a guy sporting the biggest 80's mullet imagineable and "I'm not gay but my Dads are!" with some rainbows both sold pretty well. I'm a big fan of...

    roll call '06

I'm doing B Creative Arts this year, and I'm going to try and transfer into Creative Arts / Law at the end of the year. I might still get a second round offer, but I'm doubting that (missed the clearly-in by 0.9) :) Accomodation? Heh. Still gotta figure that one out. Didn't know so many...

    HTA 2005 Essay Prize

Well done babee, I got a Certificate of Excellence too. I came back from Melbourne to find the email in my junkbox, so check there fleeps. If you didn't list an email address, you might have to wait for the mail or for your school to be notified?

Universities lie about their course cutoffs

UAC doesn't recognise the middle band in the way that VTAC does. VTAC actually publishes statistics and gives data on the percentage of those accepted below the Clearly-In ENTER. UAC gives a plain UAI cut-off and technically, students should not be given admission under that. Of course, there...

    Transferring Advice

Hi everyone, I was hoping you'd be able to advise my on my current dilemma. The number one course I wanted to do was B Creative Arts / B Laws at the University of Melbourne. I ended up missing their Clearly-In cut-off by 0.90. So I've applied to do B Creative Arts and will apply for a...

    Uni Acceptance

One of my friends gained admission into a course where the cut-off was 12.75 points higher than his UAI :)

people who got UAI 50 or lower

Congrats :) Deferring is a good option if you wanna raise some cash. Also, I suggest if you're gonna work for a year, that you seriously look at applying for Youth Allowance. You have to earn about $17,121 in 18 months, but once you do that, you're guaranteed a Government funded allowance...

    So who got an offer?

Not sure that it would've made a difference, Gav. Commerce / Law at ANU for 2006 - 96.50. That's demand and supply for you!

    2006 UTS Offers

I got offered B Communications (Writing and Contemporary Culture) / B Laws full-time at the City campus. Sounds like an awesome course, but I'll be rejecting.

people who got UAI 50 or lower

True that. Deakin University Warrnambool Campus is in Victoria, offers B Arts for around 48-49, but you would've needed to have applied through Victoria's UAC equivalent VTAC to have gained admission. Good luck with it all :)

    Some USYD cutoffs are out

Erm. Did you scroll down to the bottom of the Course page and see where it says HSC 2006 Cut-Off?
  15. gorgo31

people who got UAI 50 or lower

That UAI could get you B Arts at La Trobe University, and if by any chance you applied through VTAC, would get you into a B Arts at Deakin too. Not sure about the Hospitality certificate.

    Official Anticipated Album Releases

Placebo's album is available now, if you know where to look. It's due for official release on March 13th. And the Yeah Yeah Yeahs are indeed back in the studio for a release later this year.

Domestic Fee Paying same price as HECS ?

Also, if you choose to put your domestic fee paying fees onto a FEE-HELP loan, beware the 20% surcharge for undergraduate students. All in all, you end up paying a lot more than a HECS-HELP student, and thus I'd suggest looking into all transfer possibilities before deciding on a domestic fee...

    Gotta love the irony.

English Extension 2 and Visual Arts

Glitterfairy is correct. The Board is more concerned that kids are using a significant amount of the same content for the major work of both subjects, eg. submitting their Society and Culture PIP with some modifications as their English Extension 2 critical response. Indeed, I have been told...

American Pie (not the disgusting movie) the song by Don McLean

Out of interest Ellie_Belly, did you get your name from that series of books "Girls in Love" ? I never read them, but the TV show was teh r0xx0r.
