I think Sparta's hard to do as an essay, but the short answer are pretty easy. Hmmm for an essay this year, they might ask one on the government, maybe Lycurgus... other than what they've already asked, there's not much left big enough to constitute an essay.

Would the advice line know if they HAVE to give us a broad question along with a specific one? Cos it's set out like that in the specimen paper. If they are both specific then it's impossible cos you can't use your own issues.

Do you know if Cartledge has written textbooks? He's not from any of mine but i don't have many.

This thread topic is ridiculous. If you work hard at a public school you can get the same mark as at a private school. No "school" is smarter. What a dumb argument to start in the first place.

The specimen paper was like the "example" paper they made to show people in 2001 doing the new HSC what the layout and exam questions would be like. (i thinK). It's always good to have a look, like you would look up the real 2001 and 2002 papers. But anyway, my point was that those questions...

Because it's ANCIENT history and it's from sooo long ago, the only way we know about it is from sources, so everything you say you basically should back up with a quote. I guess it's not VITAL, i mean the exempler reponse didn't have many.

I feel so sorry for levi after what the judges said. That mark judge basically saying "i'll be ASHAMED if paulini goes tonight and levi stays" - how is that meant to make levi feel? And the judges all being pissed that paulini was in the bottom three - obviously australia wanted her there...

Will they ask a question on textual integrity? It's all through the syllabus.

Your ranks are all above average so it should be ok. You can get in the 70's if you go well in your HSC exams, but realllllly try to fix english bwcause that HAS to count no matter what.

We haven't learnt any critics. Can they ask for that? All we've learnt is the different ways to value his poetry, e.g. for it's intellectualism, or for it's exploration of human emotion etc - not WHO values his poetry in these ways. Crap.

In the CSSA trial for workplace the essay was on (something like) issues and remedies faced by those who have had their employment terminated. It was on one specific dot point. Are they likely to do that in the HSC?
