this isn't exactly news, it's been happening blatantly for years. i don't have a problem with it, uni recruitment departments have to pander to idiot parents who think that higher UAI = better/harder course so it's natural that they'll have to tinker with the cut-offs a bit.

in other uni election news, i saw the list of candidates for the undergrad senate seat and there are two candidates: sara haghdoosti and kate laing. how did we go from five candidates last year to two this year?

i just discovered that someone i went to primary school with is running for SRC. i didn't even know she was at usyd. and i also discovered that one of the candidates who i vaguely know is gay. wow, election honi is full of surprises this year.

i vaguely know at least half a dozen candidates this year. and one of them is really annoying and asks stupid long-winded questions in lectures, so he's receiving my honorary last preference. and neb, does 'no war in iraq campaign 2003' really count as an item for your election CV? that was...
