i did Extension and Continuers Japanese by correspondence, it does require you to be more disciplined but it's not that bad, in some cases it's good because your correspondence teacher is only teaching a few students so they can give you more attention

by writing in english i mean not wasting your time writing in hiragana or kanji because usually it's slower for most people, so if you know the japanese word or sentence in japanese then write it in romaji or english? i don't know, to each their own i guess, by having a intro and conclusion...

well you should write down or at least know what your first sentence or two will be so that your intro is confident. don't write out the whole speech obviously, i found writing in english with japanese structures or words was the best. don't be afraid of writing the english words in the japanese...

i think extension would just place you higher than the average uni entrant who would be studying japanese for the first time. you'd probably be able to learn harder stuff and go further perhaps and be more desirable as an employee but i'm not sure, i'm still in year 12 too

because i went to a normal japanese school there was obviously a different curriculum. my teachers back here gave me the option of completing Year 11 assessment tasks while i was over there but it proved to be too much. I was allowed to go straight into Extension Japanese when I got back though...
