I agree with your point of view about the HSC and the different manifestations of intelligence, ur_inner_child, but I think that this person was alluding to "intelligent design" theory through her line of reasoning.
I have some suggestions that may give you a creative boost:
1) find one work from three to four authors with different writing styles that you like.
For example, a lyrical writer (like Tolkien), a romantic writer (like Gibran), an
intellectual writer (like Austen), a "dry" writer...
In the current WISC test for young adults, I scored in the 99th percentile for verbal skills - that's age equivalent 36. In English Extension 1, the HSC markers gave me an exam result of 35. The HSC indicates a certain range of abilities, and is more suited to specific learning styles. For...
Alot of people experience this sense of being creatively blocked, or of being unable to find the motivation to buckle down and work. My advice is firstly not to stress. You'll be fine. Stress makes it more difficult to start and it inflates the problem. Secondly, make a routine for yourself. It...
I interpret "whatever I do I must keep my head" as symbolically linking landscape and psyche - it relates the idea of one needing to maintain their common sense on a literal journey into new territory, with the need to maintain ones conscious 'sense of self', of time, and of identity, in the...
Dear Katie, Matt, Tennille, Liam, Lynn, Justin and Tim -
I would also like to say that I had a great time with you guys this past week, and can't wait to go again next year. :D
Yours,
Marcus (PS: I did not shave me ears!, hehez)
I don't think that someone nicknamed "absolution" should be giving notes out about postmodernism, :p. That's absolutely outrageous, and relatively interesting .
Dear Justin,
I gasped when I saw this - (http://users.bigpond.net.au/evil_diet_coke/jhakka/DSCN2179.jpg). I suddenly realised that it is a Journeys text.
Yours,
Marcus.
Let's get one thing straight - I never said I don't believe her to be an historian. This has become an argument of definition, which has the potential to be totally useless. I believe we're on the same track, and I'd like to clarify what I mean. For me, an historian is simply any person who...
I'm not claiming absolution - I'm simply stating that in that sometimes unfortunate institution of academia, in the titulary IT defines, Bradley may not necessarily be counted as an 'historian'. I do not support academic titulary, because such a definition of an historian is elitist at worst...
Pamela Bradley might not be officially counted as an 'historian', but I believe that her work is nonetheless useful and even insightful. An academic title DOES NOT ensure reliability, nor is it strictly a measure of worth. If Bradley's work is useful, then it is valid. Bradley makes history...
It was wrong of her to pretend to have expertise, to betray trust, but come on - let's not name call. Her masquerade is more than enough vulgarity for one day.
