While I would be happy to wait a few weeks for sex when first meeting a girl, having been in a relationship where sex is regular I honestly don't think I could go without it indefinitely. A relationship may not require sex, but it'll definitely make it last longer.

I don't think it's the actual physical aspect of cheating that's the problem. If the guy/girl isn't satisfied enough with you that he has to seek pleasure elsewhere (whether it's cyber or physical), then the relationship clearly isn't going anywhere.. Porn is a whole other issue altogether...
