Front-office salary - What should I expect? Newbie?

Auditors work 40 hours a week adding up ledgers, 50 if they are hardcore. IB: $100k - 100 hours/week monkeying around with excel and making picture books. 20/hour. In the end, each to their own. If you are solely motivated by money, you won't last long.

    Maths + Commerce Careers

Actually statistics has less rigour than most mathematics courses. I find stat more humanities based than my other maths subjects. Stat is a lot of : *How stuff is worded *How you interpret the question

Front-office salary - What should I expect? Newbie?

It really depends. If you call 50-60 hours a week, selling your soul, then.... Markets is generally 10-12 hour days. La Divinia: Its a market maker. Now google that. Seraphim: How so? Is that why they are advertising all the time? Or is it that they are very selective with who they employ?

    First-year Mathematics courses

D isn't too hard in 1131/life sciences. Do all the tuts and you'll get a D. It's easier to transfer to an easier stream than to transfer to a harder stream since 1131 will go faster than life sciences. I'd make you your mind pretty quickly. 1131 will be fine with your marks.

Front-office salary - What should I expect? Newbie?

Probably less hiring in ECM/DCM, base will stay the same - probably bonus will be cut. Euro banks are around 60 000 pounds all up for grads (inc bonus). 40 base + 20bonus roughly. I think Australia is near the bottom for salaries. But in the UK cost of living is much higher, so it'd be...

Front-office salary - What should I expect? Newbie?

As Newbie said, probably $85-95k plus 50-100% bonus. Although I have a slight feeling the bonus component will be curtailed for FI (for this year anyway)

BSc means UNEMPLOYMENT, true or false?

You will need to have a good average 70+ in an employable field like geology, statistics etc. Honours will get you a job. It is hard to get a job from a vanilla Bsc since it is not a professional degree.
