    Union Board Elections 2007

Re: The Official Union Board Elections 2007 Thread Well, a 'message' of the complexity of 'Ruchir', 'Ruchir for Union' or 'Vote 1 Ruchir'. That would apply to the other candidates as well, of course. 'Got Thai' is more creative, but also a bit abstract.

Help me on finding a course??

What sort of role do you want to have in those organisations? They're pretty broad.

    Semester I Chatter Thread (2007)

Re: Semester I 2007 - Chatter Thread! The email says the work is 'expected to last for most of 2007'. Which is strange, because does landscaping really take that long?

Does the Bachelor of Arts/ Bachelor of Science degree still exist?

In most degrees honours is an extra year, so if you want to do a combined degree with honours it'll take six years. The exception is Law, in which honours are awarded based on your marks.

    Semester I Chatter Thread (2007)

Re: Semester I 2007 - Chatter Thread! I read somewhere that once they're done Eastern Avenue will be renamed 'The Ramblas'. Christ knows why. According to the email they sent out, it's going to be a 'pedestrian boulevard with a dramatic new look'. Which is great, because what's the point of...

    Where is Ralph's cafe?

I don't really detect any difference, but I'm not exactly a coffee connoisseur. The quality of the coffee at the coffee carts varies a lot depending on the barista, though. Don't go to Ralph's for food. It's even more disgustingly overpriced than the rest of the places on campus.

    Where is Ralph's cafe?

It's in the Arena sports centre, the ugly building on your left as you look towards Manning from the Physics building. It's at I12 on this map.

    SCLG1001 - Essay!!!

Yeah, you go up the stairs to MacLaurin Hall that you queued up on enrolment day, and turn right at the landing. There's a desk with coversheets to staple to your essay and then you put it in the appropriate box around the corner.

    Union Board Elections 2007

Re: The Official Union Board Elections 2007 Thread Isn't it sort of a problem that the AA rule implies that a board fully or mainly comprised of men must be avoided at all costs, but that a board fully or mainly comprised of women is totally fine?

    Music you HATE

That's gangsta rap, which is sort of a subgenre of rap. Rap is a lot broader than just gangsta rap, but unfortunately other types barely get any airplay on the main radio stations. Because let's face it, what we really need to hear is more Akon and 50 Cent.

    the amazing race

To be fair, the All-Stars cast isn't exactly a collection of the best racers ever. The reason the Hippies aren't there is because the producer, Bertram van Munster, found the Hippies' schtick tiring and didn't want to bring them back. I think overall it's a pretty solid cast.

    Money stuff

I think that as a uni student you can only be classed as 'independent' if you are married, have a child, you've earned however much money it is in the 18-month period or if it is 'unreasonable for you to live at home' because of severe family issues (like if you're a victim of abuse or...

    UTS or Sydney Uni?

Education building is as bland as hell, at least from the outside. Old Teachers College is nice though.

    UTS or Sydney Uni?

We have Broadway as well, about five minutes away. And the consumeristic delights of Wentworth. Mmm, overpriced stationery and dodgy hot dogs.

    is uni hard?

The workload also depends on what course you're doing. A friend of mine is doing MedSc (first year) and is doing quite a bit of work, but I'm doing Arts (also first year) and am doing rather less. That's partially because we have one or two assessments for the whole course, rather than ongoing...

    the amazing race

Ooh, looks like the erudite and intellectual commenters on the Seven website are back: Apparently so excited that he/she didn't actually notice putting on the caps lock: And, interestingly: Way to read up on the season before commenting.

    Big Brother 07

Especially since it's the same in almost every respect as what the UK Big Brother did last year. Except with Kit Kats instead of Starburst. But they'll probably market it as a 'World First' anyway. That's a pretty good idea, actually. Send them into the house in the middle of the day, have...

    the amazing race

Well, as it turns out, Seven will be screening The Amazing Race: All-Stars next, skipping TAR10 for the moment. First episode on the 12th of April (which is a week from this Thursday). http://au.blogs.yahoo.com/theamazingrace/

Bull, What do you guys think and want?

What the Bull needs is a subeditor. Some of the spelling errors are painful. (Eg: in this week's article on asylum seekers 'Nauru' was consistently written as 'Naru'.) Also, a lot of the articles wander around in search of a point. So more editorial intervention would be good as well. Also...
