    log book question

"The process log should contain: • description of procedures • log of sequential development of the topic • record of major decisions of the project • review: cumulative self, peer and teacher evaluation of the project and record of interviews." -Syllabus I think that implies that it needs to...

What marks classify as A-range in this course??

Internally, it really varies from school to school, but I think A-range is normally about the top fifth of the maximum - so in an assessment marked out of 10 it'd be 9/10, in an assessment marked out of 15 it'd be 13/14/15, and so on. Externally there is no A, B, C, D, E, just bands E1 to E4...

    enrolment questions

You have to pay on the day for DFEE or non-deferred HECS. As for choosing units of study - it really depends on what course you're doing. If you're doing something like medical science your units of study will largely be similar to everyone else's, although you'll have a bit of choice. If...

    Biblical Studies

I read somewhere that a lot of people in Biblical studies classes at uni refuse to even consider the idea that Moses didn't write the Pentateuch. That's really depressing.

    Ideas for Major Works

Judas isn't in any syllabus I can think of. He might fall partially under the 'Historicity of Jesus' case study in Hist Ext, but if you're not doing that one I'd say you'd be fine.

    Missed enrollment

Why both UTS and Usyd? Did you get two offers? I suggest you call the universities as soon as possible to see if you can sort it all out.

What Subjects Are You Taking This Year?

We can change our enrolment online from about mid-Feb, I think.

Is the access card worth it?

On a semi-related note, what's happening with SRC membership this year? I've read somewhere that you have to pay, but at enrolment the 'Standing up to war and capitalism, bring peace to Iraq by withdrawing all troops and letting the religious factions fight each other with an intensity not...

    Question on units of study

    1. You can change your units of study online from about mid-Feb to the second week of semester. 2. I think that's the list of course readings in the library, so if the person in charge of the course hasn't put them up yet it'll just say 'unknown'. Nothing to worry about.

    HECs options

The discount would make more of a difference if HECS-HELP loans had interest charged on them, because the less you owe the less the debt compounds. But as HECS-HELP is simply adjusted for inflation, you're going to be repaying the same amount in real terms regardless of when you do it, so...

    Rudd Vows Education Revolution

I think that should be means/asset-tested. It should be far less restrictive than it is now, and it should be variable depending on circumstances, but I don't think the government should be funding the uber-rich. Everyone else, though, should get all the cash. Including me. :)...

1 week to go, no work done

Sure you are. Most of the holidays didn't have a particularly high workload, in my experience (although it depends what subjects you do, of course). The key is to not start going "Ooh, big bad HSC" and start working yourself too hard too early. Year 11 and 12 are the best years of high school...

Bachelor of Arts - Music Major

You can find the information you want in the Arts handbook - start on p. 50. There are two levels of entry, advanced and beginners - beginners requires no qualifications, advanced requires 67% or higher in Music 2 'or equivalent', whatever that means. Doesn't say anything about an audition.

    Getting to USYD

Light rail? Bus from central is a lot quicker and cheaper. Light rail to Glebe (the closest light rail station to Usyd) is about $4 return, and then you have to walk almost another kilometre. Return bus costs about $1.50 and drops you straight outside. It'd be cool if Usyd got its own light...

    How many Table B units?

If you're doing a straight BA, you can do up to 60 credit points from Table B across the degree, 12 junior and 48 senior. So in first year you can't do more than two Table B units; the rest have to be from Table A.

    Offer letter from UAC!

I think you're supposed to bring the slip at the bottom along with you to enrolment.
