    Medicine at Macquarie?

Haha, chill dude. I was just asking as it sounded like you may have been a student from your post but I didn't recall you posting too much on law before. Apparently merely mentioning a starting salary as the next step upon completion of 7 years of college in America equates to "typical wannabe...

    Medicine at Macquarie?

You seem to be very opinionated in this area. Are you a law student? For the record, I know what a JD is and how law degrees work in the US. I have family who are lawyers in America: the 4 years undegrad, 3 years JD, $160 000 staring salary, yada yada. Do you know what a graduate law degre is...

    Medicine at Macquarie?

The uni does offer the LLB for graduates, but only part-time external. As for post-grad law, it'd be a terrible move for a second tier law school like MQ to offer a JD in the forseeable future. I think Melbourne and Bond are the only a uni's to offer it, and only Melbourne offer it at the...

    Remedies take home exam

Nice choice. Dispute was pretty cool for the 4 weeks I took it last year. I've picked it up again (and will be sticking with it) for my final subject of uni! Get yourself sorted with a kick-arse resume and cover letter template and send speculative letters offering your services. There are...

Taxi Driver Murder = MQ Student

Sef Gonzales (http://www.smh.com.au/news/national/gonzales-wins-appeal-after-mistakes/2007/06/05/1180809521647.html) ...and now this guy. This, along with Chairman Ma and Di Yerbury, Club Mac's received a fair bit of press of late.

Budget 2007: Steven Schwartz on $5 billion Higher Education Endowment Fund

"Mr Howard defended the government's decision to remove limits on the number of full fee-paying students in all university courses." http://www.smh.com.au/news/national/pm-to-seize-uni-control-from-states/2007/05/10/1178390396190.html?page=fullpage#contentSwap1 Melbourne is moving to 1/3 full...

Budget 2007: Steven Schwartz on $5 billion Higher Education Endowment Fund

Nonetheless, you had a nice little anti-communist/socialist rant (quoted earlier). Was that in response to a particular point of the article, or the article as a whole. It still doesn't 'make it obvious' the rich student (who we must remember is inherently dumber than the poor kid) would...

Budget 2007: Steven Schwartz on $5 billion Higher Education Endowment Fund

Hahah, I hardly think Schwartz is arguing for a Communist society. He is arguing for an end to the two-tiered system (which Rudd will implement in 2009 should he be voted in). I take it then you don't agree with uni spots/abstudy that we have for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander students...

    24 Hour Shift

I'm pretty sure they don't function outside of library hours, which now renders the courtyard door useless. I went there after 5pm on a saturday the week after the easter break to do my assignment and they were closed. I know they definitely don't open after 10pm during the week.

    24 Hour Shift

The library closes at 10pm Monday to Thursday and 6pm on Fridays. The library computer lab has gone uber lamo and now only open when the library is open (someone correct me if I'm wrong). E4B labs are pretty much the same as library opening hours. E6A labs is only accessible for ICS students..

Budget 2007: Steven Schwartz on $5 billion Higher Education Endowment Fund

Op-ed in the Herald by our VC. The usual egalitarian/libertarian spiel. Couldn't agree more about overhauling the 2-tiered system... ------- From Soviet class to world class STEVEN SCHWARTZ May 10, 2007 Australian higher education is the very model of a nationalised industry...

SMH: 'Police to hunt for missing [MQ] uni funds'

Of course students can hang out no matter what university they attend. When I say "isolated", I refer to universities that are so isolated from major capital cities and therefore have a substantial population living close to campus. From all reports Southern Cross Uni in Coffs has a good...

Re: What's going on here? Yeah we all knew about it - dodgy elections, people kicked out of supposedly open meetings, the money going into MUSC despite the general lack of services coming from it. And for those that have been living under a rock, it's been reported in the early pages of the...

The Melbourne Model: Thoughts and Opinions

They're lying. Say you had a smart well rounded student from Melbourne and a smart well rounded student from [INSERT INFERIOR LAW SCHOOL]. Most, if not all law firms will take the Melbourne grad. (It's not 50-50). What you have to understand is that at law school, the nerds are like the...

    Big Brother 07

Don't worry, it'll be TJ going. I'm sure of it. Nobody likes a pscyho, except Patrick Bateman in the book/movie psycho, he's pretty cool. Still, pretty rough for Joel to be nominated despite getting 0 nom pts.

SMH: 'Police to hunt for missing [MQ] uni funds'

I personally don't think the uni environment is THAT bad at MQ. It is similar to USNW and a whole lot better than the building in the city that is UTS. USYD tends to attract the GPS/CAS students, or elite selective schools. I think the elite secondary schools (if nothing else) instil in their...

The Melbourne Model: Thoughts and Opinions

I applaud what Melbourne Uni is trying to do. Quite frankly, there are far too many people doing law for the sake of it which negatively affects the educational and social experience of the rest of the cohort. Under the new model students can get themselves into a generalist degree, learn...
