    finishing the 4u hsc exam

I always found it difficult to finish the 4u exam. There's so much packed into it. I hope they're not changing the course any time soon. I don't think there's that much wrong with it, and any changes made will probably be along the lines of those made to the physics and chemistry courses.

Scholarships - participation in the community

My memory of that interview is a bit foggy, but here goes. What is actuarial studies? Why do you want to do actuarial studies? What will you do if you miss out? What sort of leadership roles have you done? Recount a situation where you used those skills to resolve a conflict. Name a...

are colour vision deficient students eligible to apply for med

I don't think you'll have any problem, but you can go the faculty's website and check out the fitness to practice policy. I think it says to contact the student affairs co-ordinator. http://students.med.unsw.edu.au/students.nsf/website/policies

Scholarships - participation in the community

Yah I'm not the greatest person to ask these questions, cos usyd and co-op are the only two I applied for. nit probably knows more abt malcom-chaikin than me, and he knows the guy who got the scholarship for this year pretty well too.

I think you only need the UAI for a BComm, and it doesn't matter much what it is besides that.

Scholarships - participation in the community

Well in the scholarship form they ask you to fill in your ranks for all your subjects, and for actuarial I think they place special emphasis on maths. But others on the boards know far more abt this topic than me, so my words aren't authoratative.

Exactly right. Throw in as much stuff as possible, particularly if it sounds good, and captain of tennis certainly does.

Scholarships - participation in the community

Yeah tough decision. No scholarship + UNSW vs Sydney + 6k a year. I guess I preferred to get straight into medicine rather than science. And I live really close to UNSW, and being the lazy bum I am... Anyway, back on topic, they like lots of leadership and "projecty" stuff for co-op, or so...

    The Sciences Subjects

I've only done half a year of med so far, but it seems like bio is probably the most useful subject. But most of the hsc bio you finish very quickly, so it's not that much of an advantage. Furthermore with hsc phys the way it is these days, its even less useful. That said, the faculty does...

    ne-one else opting for 4 eng/4 math?

I found 4u maths a lot more work than 4u english, but I think it really depends where you put your emphasis. Also, if you can get a good early start on your major work, then you can get it out of the way (not that I did!). Both subjects are immensly enjoyable and intellectually stimulating, so...
