yeah you do get a seperate mark for the exam and prac, yes, your teacher is right, you only get to know your final combined mark so on the hsc certificate they'll send out to you (whenever that'll be) it'll only show the assessment mark and hsc mark plus the alignment of it..

don't be fooled by the course being 5 years along, remember 1 year of this course is devoted to industrial exeperience.. most of the jobs relate to the IT industry.. from the people i've spoken to, they said its hard to actually land yourself a job within the computer engineering sector...
