    Flexible Entry

you have to take into account that some courses have pre-req's which means you need to have done the other class (which was most likely on in semester 1)... and you also need to build up your units. what i suggest is that since you have 8 subjects in first year, you use two of those (12credit...

you mean major in another language? if yes, then you can. you simply just pick the lanaguge as your arts major.

    i need help...seriously

yes you are allowed to major in chinese studies, regardless if you are chinese. as "pigs_can_fly" said, you won't be able to study the beginner course unless you really are a beginner. you are also tested on your knowledge if you want to do the beginner course!!

    welcome to arts!!1

3 languages? wow i think thats too much and i don't htink its possible. i mean, if i remember right, you need a major from the arts faculty, another from the science faculty, and one in a lanaguage. i guess you can major in 2 languages for your arts and language major.. but you will have to...

    first yr subjects in commerce

you need a D average to trasnfer to b. commerce, well thats to give you better odds because of the high competition.

how much will syd commerce go up by?

i think thats anyones guess. they have to take into account the lack of positions being offered due to over enrolments in previous years as well as the supposedly much smarter cohort this year.

    is there a difference??

i thought the only difference between them was which faculty handled your enrolment and other matters, ie B. Arts/ B. Commerce at usyd is handled by the ARTS FACULTY!!

    decisions, decisions!!! help us out...

at usyd, you do compulsory core units in first year, these being economics, econometrics, accounting and business info systems. if you want to sample any others such as marketing, etc, you pick them as part of your electives.

i WAS in the same situation as you!! but i didn't get my D average to trasnfer into arts/commerce at usyd. i'm considering ANU but then i'd have to move out, which i'm not looking forward too, plus i haven't organised any type of accomodation so i'm kinda stuck... but i say, if you live in...

    advice about eco and com

the difference between commerce and economics is that in economics you gain the professional recognition as an economist and that you have to have a major in a strand of economics, econometrics or economic history! whereas with commerce, you can major in anything from the faculty. to trasnfer...
