Just a simple thread. Just a thread for us 2013ers to share where we are up to in our courses and how much we've accomplished, as well as what you're planning to accomplish in the upcoming weeks. -mentally preparing myself to feel very behind :L-
For me:
English
- Nearly completed all my...
I just realised that I'm not up to the standard I aim for in terms of creative writing. My strengths lie in essay writing, and following that, short answers. However, throughout year 11 I really struggled with producing a creative piece of high standard. I don't know if that's because I didn't...

I just watched this, and it has got me thinking. However, I am not making a judgement yet and just want to hear your thoughts.
No hate people, this is merely for the sake of debate.
What does it take to ace general maths (given that you have some maths flair)?
I really want to drop general maths and focus on my other 10 units (Adv English, Modern, Ancient, Legal and Business), but there's this thought at the back of my head that I will stuff up one of my subjects. I...
What are your thoughts, guys? I know we're only one week in, so what are your first impressions?
Personally I'm finding it very different in comparison to what we did for preliminary. In prelim it was more politically based, now it's more militarily based, which I'm very much disliking. I'm...
Hey guys, just a thread where we can list our long-term goals for the HSC, and hopefully motivate ourselves in the process. Mine:Advanced English: happy with a band 6 (92+) and hopefully rank 1-5/25 or so Modern History: Band 6 (90+) and 1/12 (my dream) Ancient History: Band 6 (92+) and rank...
Initially I wanted to do The Breakfast Club but I feel as though I won't be able to relate this to her poetry. Can anyone give me even small ideas as to what concepts it explores and possibly which related texts would be suitable.
Thank you in advance
Well, I started my homework (for legal and modern) at 7.40, and only just finished now. Now I'm exhausted and still have some business study to do, along with English notes. HSC is already getting the better of me haha
(This thread if purely for empathy, so if you're going to post something...
I found this video on Youtube a few mins ago, and have found it to be considerably helpful so I thought I'd share.

Today in maths my teacher told our class that school's only send BoS each students rank in a given subject, along with the performance of the cohort, where the BoS gives the student a mark based on their rank amongst their cohort. Is this true? I thought they sent in your overall mark and your rank.
What if the question asked in the HSC exam doesn't relate to our prescribed and related texts? For eg. belonging to a place
Sorry if this is a stupid question, I'm jus trying to get my head around it
Thank you
Hey, I was wondering if The Breakfast Club (yes the best movie ever) would be a suitable related text for belonging? Yes, as you can tell it is one of my favourite movies but my interest in doing it doesn't stem from my mere love for the film, obviously. I really think it has a lot of potential...
*Sorry just realised I posted this in the wrong section before
Hello, 2013ers! Have any of you done any study these holidays? I have starting writing notes for belonging and reading Frankenstein and in a few days I'm going to read over my first topics.
Talk talk talk

For belonging, is anyone just briefly annotating? Or going into depth? I want to save myself some time in terms of analysis and the writing of notes for next term.
Is anyone else struggling to accept the fact that in just over 2 weeks we are going to be entering our last year of high school, or better yet the HSC?
